Quote: The original data, per the above posts, is from a normal market dump file (or perhaps the cache directly).
this guy isnt flying to every region and collection market dumps of each item is he.
...And he claims his data is better than eve central and, is based on in-game data.
How! Where is this data coming from? SPECIFICALLY
You answering for him, means nothing, its pure speculation and assumption, CCP does not give access to the market data, so where is it coming from? ----------------------------------------------- As for the Tao, the Tao that can be spoken of is not the constant Tao...

Wouldn't it be possible to check the major hub markets with just a few alts?
Unless the data covers literally every region, in which case... that's a lot of flying or alts.

Until he can give a reasonable answer to this very basic question, one that should of been asked and answered with the very first post, everything he is selling lacks credibility. No matter how clever his charts and analyst. ----------------------------------------------- As for the Tao, the Tao that can be spoken of is not the constant Tao...

Data is retrieved from the cache but it may also be manually edited to undo certain EvE server data clipping and other nuances. Then it's passed thru some apps.
Data is always about one specific item in a specific region. By default such region is The Forge. This is because, in order to see reliable price action, markets must be liquid. The Forge is already VERY low on liquidity (despite being at the center of EvE economy) even on hugely traded items. On a liquid RL market you may see two millions of contracts traded a day with an average of 54,000 transactions being made. In EvE, to give the idea, Tritanium in The Forge is only traded 3000 "contracts" a day.
This makes trading in EvE actually harder than in RL, since EvE is more similar to an illiquid stock than a smooth mainstream market.
Therefore, while I had to gather other regions (mainly The Citadel) for certain requests, I tend to suggest to only consider liquid items in The Forge.
