I've noticed in my limited travels names like "vbhkjesfhtf Onzo" and "Yifdgrwered Mikakka". There are dozens (if not more) of characters with that type of name. I've asked a couple times in chat what the purpose is but if I do get a response it is usually sarcastic and uninformative.
Could anyone shed some light on the motivation to make such character names?

Probably macros.
These are players that use a 3rd party program to automate tasks for isk to sell for real cash (RMT).
Usually miners or mission runners.

Thankyou very much.
I thought it might serve some strategic purpose, like perhaps offering confusion to an opposing fleet calling out primary targets or something but that didn't make too much sense to me.
Follow up question: Are these 3rd party programs and isk sellers tolerated by CCP or are there just too many to deal with?

Actually having a name thats impossible to pronounce does have a certain tactical advantage.

Shortly after the new character creation launched, I created Warpoff Warpoff Warpoff. I had to delete him to free the slot though; not sure if anyone took the name yet.
