hello i got a msg today morning
xxxxxxx has declared war on xxxxxxxxxxx.
Within 24 hours fighting can legally occur between those involved.
then after 16 minutes another one
The war between xxxxxxxxxxxx and xxxxxxxxxx is coming to an end. xxxxxxxxxx has retracted the war against xxxxxxxxxxxxxx. The war will be declared as being over after approximately 24 hours.
so actually will the war be declared? will the fighting start ? asking cuz i know mechacnics of eve is complicated maybe its abuse of some rule or something...just wanna know....make sure the war actually wont start....

The war will be live from when it started to 24 hours when it was retracted. Basically, they'll be able to shoot you for the 16 minutes that is between the war going live and the retraction taking effect.

but from what you see in the "wars" tab is s.th. like:
instead of waiting 24hrs to start the war, the war gets activated immediately and will runs for 24 hrs from time of retraction.
dunno if this is just displayed wrong or if it is a bug that is getting abused.
but then again, who cares when you have 3-5 wardecs active at any given time

I don't know what you mean, from the evemail you posted it looks like they decced you, then retracted shortly after, in this case, the war will be live from 24 hours of the war email, but will end in 24 hours from the retraction mail, ergo, they would be at war with you for 16 minutes between evemail1+24h and evemail2+24h. If the war got activated immediatly it means they were in an alliance that was at war with you, and then left, which means that the alliance wars are extended to corp wars for 24 hours, whenever you leave an alliance with active war declarations on other alliances/corps then those are extended by 24 hours by retraction.

This ... or used to be ... not sure .. hasn't happened to us in quite a while.

Sounds like they were in an Alliance at war with you and then left the alliance....when you leave the alliance your corp automatically declares war with fighting can happen to keep you from just dropping to get out of a war deck. Then they can choose to drop it I think??
