sometimes this game is a little opaque. I'd like to increase the size of the cargo hold on both my Bantam and Kestrel....any hot tips please?

Basic Cargo Expander/Cargo Expander I ... the latter is better 
hope that helps.... And please for the love of god tell me this isn't for mining

no, not for mining, I'm gearing up to make my kestrel a half way useful ship - so looking for extra speed, armament and an increased cargo capacity so I can mooch around and do some trading.
Might put some extra space on my Bantam though, but just for some easy money and so I don't have to make too many mining trips, which are very dull.

Unfortunately Cargo Expanders nerf your speed, and overdrives nerf your cargo capacity.
oh well.

beginning to notice that...hmm.
I saw someone yesterday on one of these forums claiming a max speed of 1400m/s and a capacity of 500m3 for their Kestrel though. Thought I might try and see if I can get that, but the trade off you mention makes sense!

Such speeds require more skills then you currently, and maybe even for the next month lack.
Train your frigate skill up, so you can fly the Probe, and equip that frigate with a Nano Fiber and/or an Afterburner.

thanks Oosha - I guess this game is step by step but that's OK - I enjoy the building up! Gradually making progress though and can turn about 60,000 ISK profit a run now and the main limiting factor is my cargo hold, which I'm working on. But it's great as it means I don't have to do any mining anymore

Heh yes that was me Altered. In future if you wish to see where money has come from etc goto your wallet .. then click on journal and it will be in there
