Why? For the most part, corp permissions are done well enough so almost anything can be granted to anyone, but there are these few little frustrations like not being able to add/change hangar tabs/names unless you are the CEO. There are a few others examples of this too (does anyone know them all?)
Why is this? Is there a specific reason for being able to grant most permissions except a few which are incredibly useful and yet mostly harmless? Is it intended or just lazy oversight?

Agreed. The only powers a director should not have is to appoint another director.

Edited by: Havak Kouvo on 29/04/2011 20:09:03 The corporation management has needed a revamp for a LONG time now. Both it and alliance management is either broken (ie columns being of the wrong length and extending off the screen) or just not being powerful enough (ie executor cannot set another executor but must be elected) or limited certain powers to certain predefined roles (ie only CEO and director can view member's locations, this cannot be granted otherwise).
The entire interface needs to be redesigned and reconstructed from the ground up.

Agreed. IIRC all permissions for everything (including dev and GM stuff) have to be contained in a single 32 bit flag at present. I'd suggest extending the flag to at least 256 bits and shifting the existing information to the rightmost 32 bits. That would leave a lot more space for tweaking and adding permissions. --- 34.4:1 mineral compression |

There are a few things only CEO can do and some (not all) of them should stay that way or be granularly grantable. I'm more concerned with the fact permissions are all-or-nothing based. Want to give corp members the ability to build from corp BPOs? Well, you have to give them the ability to friggin cancel corp jobs too. That one is my biggest pet peeve.
