Hello, I've been on Eve for about a month now, and am thoroughly enjoying it. I have been mainly taking on NPC kill missions and as a result I have a whole load of loot/rewards scattered throughout a whole lot of stations.
Now I'll be frank: I know very little about trading, but I realise there is quite a bit of cash to be made off my loot.
Could anyone detail a little crash course in getting up and running in selling this stuff for the best prices? Could anyone suggest a skill training regime I could follow to ensure I get best results?
Muchos Gracias

hey, I'm a newbiw too but just buy low and sell high. Check the market in your region for your chosen products and you'll be fine....pretty easy to maje 30-50% a cargo, which ain't bad. Even 20,000 years in the future they have imperfect markets, lol.

My advice is to collect your looted items at a single station. Then stack all and create sell-orders (set your own prices)
When you sell them, you'll get less ISK for them, cause other players create buy-orders at 50% below the average marketprice.
If you could use more advice on buying and selling, add Oosha to your friendslist, and I'll talk you through it when we both are online.

Unless its a named item in high demand (like guns and launchers), its usually easier just to reprocess the loot into minerals and sell them to buy orders. You get your cash much faster, and you don't have to deal with scouting prices and placing your goods in high-value markets.
Try as you might, people simply don't buy Civilian Shield Boosters or Basic Thermic Armor Hardeners. And even with the standard Tech 1 modules, people usually buy those when they get their new ship.

You can stockpile the minerals you get from your refines, and once you have done enough missions and refined enough loot, you could even have enough to build your next ship rather than buy it. ------------

Edited by: BlackHole Bob on 11/02/2005 02:55:19 Get a Industry Ship and the skills to fly it.
The more starting cash you have the better off you are sooner....but you can start with any.....
View the market in conjunction with your map and look for trade goods with short jump routes.....buy low and sell high...
Get cargo expanders and navigation mods to enhance capacity and traveling speed and overall trade run cash intake rate of time.
With 25 mill and a industry ship you should be able to easily find many trade goods to make 10-20 mill easy in and 8 hour day of playing...and on the right runs and days and studying the markets and regions well, we have broken 50 mill days.....with one industry ship modded out to haul and one player.
If you don't have a stake just start with what ever isk you have and in short order you will have a stake to buy large amounts of trade goods....
Some of the better trade goods are....
Antibiotics Holoreels Livestock Hydrogen Batteries
but there are so many other ones that come and go and the market is forever changing....
you can find some good ruotes out there if you take the time to "study the market in conjunction with the map"
For added ISK and the most lucrative trade routes you will need to haul in 0.1 to 0.4. This is where cloaking can help you stay safe while making your most lucrative trade runs....
as for skills...its simple...
Trade skills Navigation Skills Hull Upgrade skills
any skill that enhances ship speed and capacity....the faster and more you can haul of course the better the ISK in relation to rate of time for amount.
HAPPY TRADING!

realize that livestock prohibits use of giant secure containers in boosting your cargo cap...which is rather annoying since you've got to dump over 1million isk worth of boxes to profit off livestock, unless you can work around that handicap somehow... ______________________ Best darned links ingame and out (backup) |

Also take a look at the Trading 101 thread in the market forum. Its quite useful for those starting out in the world of trade and commerce.
