Edited by: The Antiquarian on 03/05/2011 11:01:48 I am a collector of pretty much anything unique and rare in EVE Online. A novice collector, it's only been two years since I began collecting and I've steadily increased my collections in ships, modules, and various commodities.
Today, I came across the existence of these special OLD VERSIONS of modules predating 5-7 years, thanks to this fellow who managed to play EVE ever since the beginning. Supposedly these items were introduced before the advent of T2 modules and they ceased to drop due to their outdated naming convention. For example, a simple junk module called "Gauss Field Balancer I (most up to date prevalent version)" costs approximately 300,000 ISK on market window, as to "Gauss Field Balancer (Old version without the 'I' at the end) which could command prices up to 3-4 million ISK.
For recent/new EVE players like me, that freaken fascinates me. Has anyone come across these modules before? If so, do you guys know any websites/previous threads where I can use to learn/compare? Upon finding the existence of these items, I find myself having to add literally hundreds of "new items" to collect.
If you guys know anything about these old modules, please share your stories!

when i first started eve a guy in our staging system got scammed into buying some mines and decided to brag about how he was going to mine the entrance to jita 4-4. Id never heard of them before but aparently theres still similar gizmos hanging around in peoples hangers. never did find out what happend to said miner (see what i did there) but i do know the mines would never work lol - Nulla Curas |

Yeah, there were mines. One of my alts still has a few stacks of the various types in Jita, maybe even a mine BPC iirc.

I recently had a co-processor without the 'I' drop from a player ship, no difference in the stats but seemed to have a market value of 80Mill - was purchased rather quickly as well.
Thinking back to my original toon i remember there used to be medium slot armour reppers - not sure if any would still exist today however.
I recently activated an old account to see if their was anything of value, unfortunately there wasn't but I recall moving across someones fingerbone (I believe all active accounts got a body part when someone or others body exploded across the galaxy) and some angel ship logs - approx eight of them - these used to give you clues to find exploration sites

I've got some snowball launchers in a hangar somewhere. Not as old as you're talking about, but still interesting to have.

There used to be "Basic" Versions of alot of T1 modules. "basic reactor control", "Basic PDU", I will have to take a look around and see if I have any of them. I probably recycled most of it a long time ago, but I got some old hangars i haven't looked in in years. I do have some cobra or python mines somewhere.

Some modules were changed to the current versions too. I believe probes were changed recently and a few others too. I old items magically changed from the older versions to the current item with a patch.
