Right... solo/small gang roaming in my hurricane, and i decide to bring ECM drones. Do i bring 5 small drones (with a spare) 3 medium drones or a mixture or the afore mentioned?
Can anyone help? Pros and cons would also be appreciated

6 small ones
A general fact in drone warfare is more is better. Always have as many drones as your bandwidth allows for.
Also, smaller drones are faster and iirc in ec drones the range is the same, so why not. Medium ec drones take a little longer to die, then again they take longer to return too, so that no bonus..
And with the ec-300s you can more easily do the engage - return & orbit - engage shortcut key trick until you see the drones are jamming (then repeat after 20s).
So as with all things drones, more = better > bigger = better Ignore me

I'm going to assume you aren't aware that this is classed as an exploit, but get ready to be modded
Personally I think classing it as an exploit is simply to avoid modifying some hideous code to do with drones and drone ECM but it IS an exploit.
Oh and yes I know everyone does it, best not to post about it though mmmm?

If you want your best chance of getting a jam in, you want one medium and 4 lights in your cane.
I can do the math for you, or you can just Google it.

(1) EC-600 (4) EC-300, maximize your chance of jamming. That 1 extra EC-300 in your drone bay won't do you much good. If someone is killing your ECM drones...they are probably going to die while you wtf pwn your target with your sexy cane, or they are using smart bombs in which case you're drones are screwed anyway. The EC-600 has longer optimal and is only marginally slower than the EC-300.
Now to be practical it wont matter because whenever you use ECM drones they will never work...however whn your enemy uses them they ALWAYS work...I think its a bug

First, maximize the number of drones with small drones. If you can't reach five, stop. That's your load-out.
Then, upgrade drones to medium one by one until you run out of bandwidth.
^applies to any ship you're sticking ecm drones into. ---

I never noticed that phenomenon... Then again I fly a phoon with a full set of EC-900's (10 jam strength total).

Also in my experience, this. Latest one was when I was tearing a new hole in a wolf with my shield blaster Ishkur (5 ec-300's out) and a neut/alt remote repped him. It took him over a minute and a half to kill me (t1 guns and bad skills - new pilot) and I didn't get one jam cycle out of the ec-300's in this time to allow me to warp.
Conversely, in my Ishkur again I was taking down a Caracal (this was ages ago), and his 2 ec-300 drones jammed me while he was in low structure. Off he went.
It is sods law indeed. I can only ever remember once when they worked in my favour, and I got away from a cane that was kiting my Brutix.
