I've been reading the threads where people blame the ground floor folks for problems, such as with the new forums. Please realize that the people on the ground have decision-makers above them that set the goals, approve content, decide on resources that will be allocated for testing and such, and generally control the entire process. It's easy to want blood and give blame. It's much harder to actually want accountability from the actual decision-makers and resource allocaters.
And on the CCP side, it's much harder to think that any real progress will be made in the various decision making processes when those up the chain seem to be shielded from results regarding their overall stewardship management (as far as we can tell by the lack of communication).
It's been 8 years of the game, but much longer as a company managing EVE. After this amount of time, are there development and management lessons and methods that can be codified, or 'written in stone' that you could share with us, that CCP follows? Learning... |

I have an idea, why doesn't everyone just get off CCP's back once in a while. Keeping EVE running is a bastard of a task as it is without people moaning at them for doing their best.
Things screw up, yes, it will always happen. Just relax, take it in your stride, have a smoke and come back an hour or so later to see if it's fixed. C'est la vie.
I just came back after a long hiatus, and I've noticed that the community is much more vindictive now that what it was 'back in the day'. That saddens me I think we the players should have to show a bit of respect towards the chaps in Iceland. __ Gothie <3 |

"Things will screw up", and yes they can be, and reading another dev post, they're working on preventing the same things from happening repeatedly. It'd be good to hear whether the top echelons are taking the lessons to heart as much as those that answer to them. To be aware of the effects of decisions on the organization and plans as a whole.
