And if you run a scanner probe have everyone in the system automatically notice the ping.
It would improve game play and be more realistic.
Hunters could sneak up on belt ratter MUCH better than now - but they would have to put in some effort and manually check the belts.
You could scan down people at anomalies just as before but they would still know someone is looking.

The next thing you know, he'll suggest bringing back the old doomsday, giving all ships a cloak and how cool "dynamite fishing" is.

/em rolls eyes
noobs
I have been posting on these forums for years. I think by now it should be clear that Im not saying anything in response to having been ganked.
By all means disagree with me but if youre going to speculate about me personally when Im pretty much an open book youre the noob.
And seriously how is expecting hunters to actually look for targets being a carebear? Its not good that carebears immediately know when enemies show up, but its just as bad that hunter know immediately if theres a target in a system as soon as they enter.
My suggestion actually favors hunters compared to the current situation - its just not the easy button that idiot hunters kep asking for.

I really like the no local in WH space...its unique and makes pvp really fun.
but removing D-scan, and adding a obvious to everyone ping when a probe launches?
basically you want a warning system for when you are about to lose your ship.....
there's several already built in, it's an alarm that goes off when you lose your shields, then another when your armor fails.
plenty of time for you to get your pod out and save your own life....any other losses could have been prevented by not being dumb.

Well theres no warning at all if you manually fly to the belt. This is a big improvement for hunters.
And the ping is still a weaker warning than the current system of seeing non-blues in local.
This suggestion is a big improvement for hunters. i really dont see how they can complain.

So let me get this straight. The op wants to blind everyone but the people who can't be arsed check dscan regularly?

oh look another useless suggestion that wants to shift PVP even more to gates and stations.
Learn to dscan, there is still skill and effort in finding people quickly with it. There is no skill or effort in being at a belt and having something warn you that there is a probe out FFS you can dscan for probes, only the laziest of lazy would ever benefit from this.
it is a terrible suggestion and this isn't even the suggestion part of the forum.

I'm a highsec/lowsec industrialist that seeks to avoid PvP at all costs...and I utterly disagree with your assertation. You take away PvP from EvE and it will ruin the game. The element of risk MUST be present for everyone. It's the risk that makes everything you do in EvE more exciting, more unpredictable, and ultimately more rewarding.

I cant believe how lazy all you so called hunters are.
My suggesting requires more effort from you but greatly increases your chances of getting a gank.
And you cry that is carebear friendly.
Youre all noobs who want easy mode.

There aren't belts in wormhole space at all, and many people in low sec and 0.0 aren't at belts either. This would make anom running and missions incredibly safe.

Manually flying to belts is normally too much work for hunters, really?
I didn't realize the bar was so low.

I think is pretty clear that my post concerns 0.0 low sec primarily.
Leave wormholes as they are - thats fine with me.

Hm.. didn't hear that one before. Sounds interesting.
How am I supposed to check gates/stations/xyz in nullsec for bubbles with that?

Dont remove local, just make every NPC in system join it, and spam crappy links and gibberish at each other, and remove the difference between NPC and PC brackets. Yeah.

when you are in system, there is only local to show you, that there is someone in your local that may aggress you, now this by any means does not show you where he is or he to know where you are, this is where the d-scan and probes come in, with probes it doesn't take that long, but the target knows you are probing for them, but with the d-scan it may take longer, but you have a longer chance to flee. altho if you don't stop ratt'in /mining and get safe, you need death anyways = stfu leave local alone and gtfo these forums

What's wrong with the onboard scanner? Some of us are just too lazy to fit a scan probe when we want to find anoms.

The only thing wrong with onboard-scanner in my opinion is the ability to use it while being cloaked. And even that doesn't seem too bad compared to other completely game-nreaking mechanics currently in use... -

You can tell this is a good idea because half the people see it as a "remove local" anti-carebear idea and the other half sees it as a nerf to gankers.

No
Maybe go fight someone that wants to fight you? I know that seems novel idea, but you know might work, rather than trying to force your gameplay onto others in the sandbox.
