They deserved to lose the isk for be so 'tarded.

In exchange for leniency they ratted out the ringleader, who was a senior member of ADOPT. I pieced this together by reading like one post in the thread each day since it was started, and all out of order too. It's nothing unusual and is in fact how I read every thread. Animal molestation comes up a lot in most of those as well for some reason. I mean really like 9/10 corps kicked from alliances are kicked for this reason, based on my research method.
