Edited by: Lebowske on 10/02/2005 13:24:03 Dear CCP (Sorry if this is the wrong forum btw)
I can understand the need for a reboot - you discovered a problem needs fixing before too many players suffers from it. Splendid. :)
BUT - 1 minute warning before an unscheduled reboot is a tad "tight" to say it carefully. 20 minutes warning should be sufficient for everyone to get into a station / calm area. But 1 minute as demonstrated right now - is just too short.
Think of the missionrunners and people doing war when planning a reboot. Please consider this at the next reboot.
Unless the serverracks are burning and you need to vacate the premises of course.
Thank you.

I agree that a minute is very short notice...
I belive in these cases tho, the faster that the server is shutdown the better, as there are things which come up that need to be fixed yesterday... in a volitile enviroment such as the internet and MMORPG's in general, this sort of reboot/shutdown isn't limied to Eve. ------------------------- DEFEND THE EMPEROR - Join us! Sorry for the threadjack, but:
To be fair here: if everyone was given 20 minutes to dock into a safe spot, do you not think it would be an horrendous job on the company's part to rollback all the changes that could happen in that time frame (especially information changed due to the exploit)?
Why make it harder for them, especially when they are getting paid by customers to keep the game in check? I know that if they didn't, they would have more than a fair number of people cancelling their accounts over this issue.
All you have to do is petition your case. They will be able to take a look at your account and your actions leading up to that point and set you straight.
The issue is being deal with elsewhere on these forums, but there is my $0.02.

Totaly aggre. I dont want to sound like a smartass.
But CCP have the right to do anything they want seing that it's their property. and whining wont help.
An exploit is a serious issue to. It's better this way then letting players exploit for 20 min while everyone logs of
