I'm just curious as to what other explorers do when the RNG is being a *****. I've had a bad month and have been debating whether or not to find something else to do for a bit. Of course I realize it's all just random and that because I'm doing horrible someone else is having a hella good time.
So what do you do?
ps. I think my bad month just ended as today I got DG invuln but the question still stands.

Try try try again.
I just completed a Class 7 Serpentis plex where nothing dropped.
A week ago, a Guristas Outpost escalated and dropped a Pithum A-Type Shield Booster. -------------------------------------------------- I am the Love Angel, Wedding Peach, and I am very displeased by your lack of love! |

^ That
And if I really need isk, i'll run some missions or put in a little 0.01isk time on my trader. Personally, I find both a bit nauseating and i'd rather roam around finding nothing most days.

is it just the NPC which drop the faction loot or is it only named NPC / buildings etc which will drop stuff?
I have run a few Serpentis DED sites but haven't got anything so far

Edited by: Emperor Salazar on 06/05/2011 12:02:04 Accept that this IS NOT MISSION RUNNING. There is no way to realistically apply isk/hr to exploration. To attempt to do so is pure foolishness.
Drops are supposed to be rare. Thats why they are valuable. If you got a good drop every time and so did every one else, prices would PLUMMET.
Striking it rich is what exploration is all about. Essentially, exploration is treasure hunting. The jackpot is hard to find, but when you do find it, its often quite good. I also like to think of it as a lottery. The more tickets you buy, the better your odds. Find a way to find more sites and run them as fast as possible to increase your odds.
If you can't accept the "concept" as described above, then exploration isn't for you. Simple as that.

You've got bad luck then. And yes, buildings can drop stuff. Each room in a DED complex has a overseer can/rat. While only the last room can drop deadspace loot (c-type/a-type stuff) all overseers, even mere cans, can drop faction loot.
I've had Phi-Outpost (Serpentis 4/10) first room drop a Shadow Serpentis Explosive Hardener from the red can.

Just gotta mix it up sometimes, doing the same thing all the time is a good way to wear yourself out

I have my typical exploring run of systems, I check them out for what they're worth and regardless of what happened, when done I either log off or do something else.

RNGesus is not smiling upon you this month.
RNGesus is fickle. Next month, RNGesus may love you again.
