Hi.
I am actually building this fitting for Arazu and after some research I came to some lights about Remote Sensor Dampening calculation. It happens that I haven't found any information on how to calculate the full effectiveness of Sensor Dampeners, and the only place where I can find any data is exactly in EFT. So I wanted to ask if anyone knows the true formulae to know the effectiveness of RSD after skill bonuses, rigs, stacking penalties, RSD drones and ship bonuses.. As you see, it may be a hell of a torment getting to figure out all this by trial and error :)
Thanks!

For the most part, EFT seems correct, but here is what I do when EFT isn't around:
Check the % in game, to see exactly how much I do, for mulitple mods I go here and I set it to hardeners, with a base value of 0 how many mods, and the % value from in game, and it will tell me after stacking how much % it takes away from their range, or the % value it takes off their scan res.
Scan res, is however not a flat decrease in lock time, so to figure it out I use: LockTime = (40000/dampened_scan_res_of_ship)/(asinh(sig_of_ship_to_target)^2)
But I seem to be getting the same results as EFT, so I don't see the point tbh

Thank you!
I didn't know of this formula to calculate LockTime, I had one from am old ECM guide and it didn't return correct results. In the other hand I knew how to find the final Locking Range of an opponent over RSD's with stacking penalties, and I just wanted to know how to calculate the RSD effectiveness with the sum of the several bonuses available. But its true that EFT gives a value which is inline with the game client. I'll stick to it. The goal of this theoretical calculation is to understand the way an Arazu will work fitted for close range with 3 RSD plus 4 medium ECM drones. The idea is to use this Arazu for solo hunting, lock the opponent first, dampen him with sensor resolution scripts in a way that it will take him something like 15 to 20 secs to lock me (considering its another cruiser-size ship). In the meanwhile the drones will have to jam him once every 15 to 20 secs in order to guarantee his inhability to lock me. It will then work as a Falcon or Rook. Of course this is just an experience to arrange a fitting out of the box. There are, indeed, superior capabilities fitting the Arazu to long range with Locking Range Scripts and the only drawback is the smaller DPS achieved without drones.
Anyways, I'll soon find out the result

With 3 sensor damps and good skills you can count on having oponents lock range below 17km. _______________________ The best thing in EvE is Barrage M. |

Don't use RSD drones if you're already using damp modules.
In fact, don't ever use RSD drones. They are objectively worthless. |

Recon V, 2x scripted Phased Muon, 2 Inverted Sig rigs and Sig Suppression III will reduce targeting range on pretty much any non-SeBo'd BC to ~19km. Works great with a 23km TS scram. A third RSD is just gravy. |

I saw that you posted here and lolled a bit, then realized that I, too, was reading these forums.

Maths is broken, get in your ship, ask your corpy to let you sensor damp, and see what happens.
Practice makes perfect they say. Or you could second guess from others experience.
