Dyaven Blue Republic RvB - BLUE Republic	Posted - 2011.05.08 06:05:00 - [1] So, I'm currently flying a Kronos for PVE and soon I'll be moving to Angel space. Am I seriously gimping myself if I stay in the Kronos, or is the Kinetic damage portion of Rails significant enough for the Thermal resistance to not hurt that much? Obviously flying something like a Machariel would by far be the best option, but I don't have Large Projectiles or Minmatar Battleship trained... I can't imagine it being worthwhile to use a Mach with T1 guns?

With scouts and proj + minmatar Bs at 4 I show 789 DPS before implants, rigs and drones with t1 ammo and 4 faction gyros. OTOH I show more than 830 DPS coming out of a maxed out kronos and both thermal and kinetic aren't awful at angel ships. Also machariel with it's shield tank and completely new weapon type - read a new clone with new gunnery implants+time for training + ship price is a huge investment. OTOH minmatar + projectiles has been the better race for the last few years and it's still pretty awesome - the sooner you switch over the better

Best choice ultimately would indeed be a machariel with good skills, but for now a kronos will be fine i guess, maybe try some blaster on the kronos and see how that goes for the closerange battles. Maybe though, a dominix with explosive drones and perhaps even autocannons will perform better.

What's the furthest most angels would orbit at?

I have been flying a mach for allmost a year now and it can tank sanctums pretty well... Dont know about EM dealing sanctums like sansha but for angels should be fine. The fit is good allmost the same ive been using. Once you get more ISK you might wanna pimp it out with faction lows and get a faction AB and deadspace shield booster. That way you will get even more DPS. And dont worry about it the price. If your an active player you should get nuff ISK for a new one within a week or two. Oh and maybe use heavy drones. If you have good drone skills there wont be a problem with frigs and heavy drones. And you can snipe frigs easly with 800s anyways. Buttom line you just got one of the best and badass ships in the game. Fly safe.

Most of angels are close range and you need to apply xplosive dmg. Train matari BS to 4 and get large proj to 4 , use meta4 guns with a Mach, you wont regret it .

They give missions against all kinds of rats with all kinds of resists and damage types. The Concord rats, in particular, have completely even resists all around. In any case, it might be a good idea to use either something less expensive than Kronos or Mach, or something small and can be made easily unprobably, like a T3.
