The base speed of the Mach is 161 m/s Therefore, the MWDII speed of the Mach is 161 x 5.50 = 885.5 m/s
The base speed of the Panther is 146 x 1.25 (assuming black ops skill is 5) = 182.5 m/s Therefore, the MWDII speed of the Panther should be 182.5 x 5.50 = 1003.75 m/s
But EFT calculates the MWDII speed of the Panther = 146 x 5.50 = 803 m/s
How can EFT be right? If all black ops bonuses worked only when cloaked, the Widow would never be able to use its ECM bonus. I presume EFT has a bug?

its very simple, the machariel is has alot less mass so the MWD affects them more then it does on a panther. Aside from that though, the cloaked velocity bonus only works when cloaked, just like stated

You forgot to include the mass/thrust ratio in your calculation. Look up the rules for propulsion modules again. The Machariel's lower mass makes propulsion modules much more effective.
Seriously, all the angel ships have ludicrously low mass, and it's killing game balance. Fix it already...

Mach is 50.000.000kg less.
That's why it's all around amazing, and almost the sole reason I fly one. I get yelled at by our Basilisk pilots constantly because they want to orbit me during WH Ops, and I'm the one orbitting them :D

Terrible attempt at a troll, maybe if you had a clue you'd know that the panther has a cloaked velocity bonus and a std ship velocity bonus...
@ OP As stated already, the panther is a big fat lardass of a ship, around 45% heavier than a tempest and 57% heavier than a mach. You don't 'feel' the weight so much in game because it has a v nice inertia modifier, so it still turns and accelerates like a regular BS. Of course it simply will not do the straight line speeds you want it to...
...oh wait

you sir need to get off your high horse and use your brain. Where did i state that the ship has one or two bonusses? right i didnt. i merely stated that the cloaky bonus only works when cloaked obviously, just like the op wondered. has absolutely nothing to do with the second velocity bonus.

Never flew the ship, but I got a 1304 m/s with 100mn mwd II for Panther in EFT.

yeah,
why can't everything just be a drake. then we'll have a fair game.

The Panther aligns in under 6 seconds, which is more like a cruiser and way better than the Typhoon. In fact, I am pretty sure it aligns faster than the Machariel. It definitely does so under cloak.

More to the point, why would you actually fly a Panther -------------- Fix the game's last broken weapon system - support if you care!

Mass and speed is an excellent combo for giving those station huging carriers nightmares

for bumping where the ship is off station already b ut has a scram, the panthers 4km/s stealth bump works a treat.
thats about the most specific situation i would use a panther over any other ship, unless i needed the portal or jump drive
