Hello,
I've recently returned to Eve after a long time of not having played. I started playing originally in 2004, spent most of my time mining and refining for my corporation, which then mostly dissolved. I spent most of my in-game time saving up to buy the learning skills and then training the learning skills. As you can imagine, not the most fun times! Fairly shortly after, I stopped playing and my character has been pretty dormant since, apart from a brief return when a few friends all had trial accounts, but that didn't last.
Anyway, I've returned to the game now and want to actually take part in some fun in EVE. I've seen that firstly, the learning skills have all gone (so much time and pain!) and I have 2m skillpoints to spend. Is it worth spending these points and does anyone have any recommendations on what?
I've added my character onto Eve Board here: http://eveboard.com/pilot/Mirelath - most of my skillpoints are invested in industry and not much in terms of skills outside of that. The rest were invested in Learning...
My immediate goals are that I'd like to get more involved with combat and I'm determined to join Eve University, to hopefully learn how to play and enjoy this game properly! To do this, it also adds a short term goal of needing to do a lot of PVE mission running for the Wiykromi Peace Corps, as the rules are I need either no standing or an 8.0+ standing with them, and it seems while I did play, I somehow accrued a miniscule amount.
If anyone could recommend where best to spend the 2m skillpoints on and similarly what I should focus on training, I'd greatly appreciate any advice and opinion!
My current thoughts myself are to focus on the following skills, but advice from those with experience and wisdom is appreciated!
Quote:
Energy Management Energy Systems Operation Shield Management Repair Systems Hull Upgrades Evasive Manuevering Afterburner Signature Analysis Advanced Weapon Upgrades Acceleration Control Fuel Conservation High Speed Manuevering Shield Upgrades Shield Compensation
Thanks!

If you don't know what to spend your skillpoints on, then don't spend them yet.
Play as you normally would. In the future, you will come to a point when you realize, "I'm so close to doing XXX, if only I had a couple more skills." Alternatively, with the next expansion they may release new skills that make you go, "Oooh, I want to do that!" That's when you should spend your refunded skillpoints.
Until then, enjoy cheaper clones.

Decide what you want to train. Then train those skills up to level 3/4 in realtime. Use your skillpoints to train to level V.
It's a psychological thing. I hate that BIG wait to train level V. :)

Maximizing your fitting skills is usefull for any type of ship. It will most likely save you on buying faction mods to save on fitting req's. Advancded Weapon Upgrade 5
2m sp is not alot tbh....
