So basically, my monitor has died, and my spare can't match the other one's resolution, and thus can't match the res that EVE now runs at by default...which I can't change since I can't see anything once EVE opens.
Reinstalling is a last resort, since I'm operating over a 3g network...it'd take forever to download.
Wat do?

Hm, you could try copy/move the settings folder before starting up, to have the client go back to defaults.
C:\Users\User\Local settings\Application Data\CCP\EVE\tranquility\settings (folder on Win XP)
Then once it has started copy back your settings folder. Think it should work. Reduce the risk of getting scammed. BLOCK known scammers on list. [ IGB: www.savejita.evezone.org ] |

Depending on the differences in the resolutions, you may be able to change the resolution from inside the EVE log in screen. The ESC menu works even in the log in screen, and the graphics options are in the upper left corner of the esc menu.
This is what I've had to do in the past, when the default is 1920x1080(external monitor), and I boot it up on my laptop's native screen, at 1366x768. The window only displays a small part of the total EVE screen, but enough to change the resolution.
Hope this helps. -------------------

Probably you could be more surgical, but try clearing out C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\CCP\EVE\c_program_files_ccp_eve_tranquility\settings, replacing <username> and c_program_files_etc as appropriate. I've occasionally had a problem on my laptop where the mouse gets stuck in the upper left corner of the screen and that always does it for me.

Safe mode doesn't work, as the screen goes into "no signal" mode as soon as I hit the login screen...and leona's directory doesn't seem to exist since I'm on Win7. :(

Have you tried using the repair tool? I think it resets the settings.

Turn on the options in Windows Explorer that allow you to see hidden and system files.

Press ALT-ENTER to get out of full screen mode. In windowed mode, switch resolution to whatever you like. Switch back to fullscreen if you prefer. _
