Hi,
I'm using Eve Online on a PC at home, and I have it on my Macbook pro as well for when I'm not at home. On my PC everything works fine. On my Mac, everything workED fine...
Now, for about a few days, everytime I launch eve online I have the message I have no internet connection, you know, the text window. But if I click on "launch eve" on this window, I'm still able to run eve online just fine.
So I wonder what happens.
Thanks |

Glad to hear you fixed the issue. If you do not mind could you explain what was happening for other Mac users who may encounter the same issue? We probably will never see a Native client but if there are small tweaks that we the Mac community within EVE can make to enhance or enable play-ability, I am all about getting them into the hands of Mac players.
Thanks again ISD Flidais Asagiri Ensign Community Communication Liaisons (CCLs) Interstellar Services Department |

In fact this was not really a problem with the Mac. I have eve online installed on my Macbook pro as well, so I can play when I'm at my office, at lunch time ;)
I have to use a VPN for that, to bypass the proxy. I use viscosity for that. As I didn't want to change the settings for all the viscosity vpn servers if my work proxy changes address or username/password, I used the option "use system wide proxy settings". So if this happens I only have to change the settings at one place. And so I have setup the system proxy settings.
But the problem is that when the launcher tries to connect, it tries to use the proxy settings it finds in the system. And sure it cannot access the proxy because the vpn is already launched, and therefore it fails to connect.
The eve client works fine though, the problem was just with the launcher.
So I disabled the proxy system wide and I have setup proxy settings in each of my vpn servers configuration.
Sorry, a bit hard to explain in english, this is not my main language ;) I hope you understood what I mean... |
