Seems to be a bug in the drone control code as at various times they will disregard my command to attack a specific target. Some will attack but others will decide to go for a less important target and will continue to ignore commands to attack the specified target until i individually select them and tell them to attack. This is a pain as it interferes with my ability to eliminate the enemy as soon as possible and only seems to have popped up recently. It can also result in drones being lost as they take on a target not currently engaged and therefore become the prime target

additional. can we have the "scoop to drone bay" command show up when the first drone, of a drone group, reaches your ship instead of the last.

Drones also tend to get cluttered up on eachother. Specially when you tell a bunch of them (13-14) for instance to return. There's always a couple that return to your ship at an aggravatingly slow speed instead of full throttle. I've lost a bunch of drones already due to this, dare i say, bug?
I've also noticed the bug described in the first post. Some drones just not following orders.

Or when they come back to your ship and half of them orbit within scooping range, and the other half zoom around like mosquitos on a caffiene overdose at 1530 meters so that you can neither scoop nor 'approach' them?
Meaning, with the current and highly borked 'scoop all or none' command you have to individually select those that are behaving and scoop them one at a time!, and then contend with waiting for a new target to arrive so you can command the drug addicts to attack a new target, then return properly.
WTF... in deadspace no new targets appear...

then theres the attack random next target which will include anything within range. This can result in say you attacking one of 5 drone groups in a mission and losing drones if you don't act quickly as they go off to attack another group which is not actually attacking you at the moment so in theory further down the target list. This 2nd group of drones then starts to kill your stupid drones. If its not targetted and its not attacking either your ship or your drones then they shouldn't attack them !!!

Edited by: Seto Mazzarotto on 06/03/2005 23:18:42 Usually when one of my drones lags behind, I shoot it. The rest behave after that.
(actually, you'll notice it's certain drones that do this. Take them back to your hangar and repackage them, usually rectifies the problem.) ----------- Fighting for the ideals of freespace, posthuman ethics, and rock & roll. |
