I want to work out how much Raw Material I need to keep X amount of Basic Facility's generating P1 to make sure that 5 factories creating P2 never have any downtime.
I am having a serious mental block on the mathematics and could do with a hand :(.
Basically I'm trying to figure out how much Raw Material I need minimum to make sure that I generate enough P1 to make sure that my P2 runs all day without any drop in performance.
This is so when I go to work I can haul enough Raw and enough P1 to my relevant planets to keep it going for the day.
Any help in the maths would be appreciated greatly!

A basic factory runs in a 30 min cycle. Each cycle require 3000 raw material.
So that's 6000 unit in a hour / factory.
With 5 factory you need 5x6000 = 30 000 raw material for each hour. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Shields are like pants, they're supposed to come off. Armor is like the condom once its gone ur ****ed |

Thats what I was doing, but for some reason it seemed wrong.
Ultimately I just need to do the same mathematics for converting P1 > P2 as well then just with a different timescale.

basically you need two P1 factories to run 1 P2, one for each input type. If you are hauling in P1 stuff to make P2 you need to really watch your math as the margins are very small. unless you have to haul a long way to get good prices most P1 is worth more to sell rather than refine into P2.Enough people are doing what you are suggestion that is has driven P1 prices up a bit. I had PI set up for a long time making everything I needed to fuel a large POS. I was just selling it off until I got my tower up. my highest profits were from selling O2 and water. only high end item worth making to sell was robotics. used to get 60,000 isk per unit, now it has dropped to about 45,000 isk. worth less than you can get for the materials to make it. Too many players are now buying the basic materials and only doing the higher end manufacturing. And don't sell POS fuel items at trade hubs, you get way more for them selling at low/null sec entry points. If you do have a set up that actually makes you money though keep in mind you only need to calculate for 23 hours a day, as you lose 1 hour a day to down time.

Here's my notes...I didn't go beyond P2 because that's what I produce to make isk.
1 basic facility processes 24hours x 6000=144,000 raw material per 24 hours, creating 960 P1 per 24 hours. 1 advanced facility processes 24 hours x 40x2=1920 P1 per 24 hours, creating 120 P2 per 24 hours.
So, 1 advanced facility processes 2x144,000=288,000 raw materials per 24 hours. For each 1 adv facility, you should have 2 basic facilities and be extracting at least 288,000 raw materials (144,000 of each type) per 24 hours.
Ex: if I have 4 advanced facilities making Rocket Fuel, I need at least 8 basic facilities and I need to be extracting at least 576,000 Ionic Solutions and 576,000 Suspended Plasma per 24 hours to run them constantly.

I just did mine based on 24 hrs because a lot of the times downtime only takes ~ 20 min or so. just curious, does skill training also stop when it's downtime?

Appreciate the input from you both!
Really helped!
Many Thanks.

No, even in DT, time is counted (which is why you put long skills for patch week ). Your skills train, Manufacturing/Research/etc still progresses, POS ticks, Planet/moon goo timers still count, etc.

Dont P1 run @ 30 mins and P2 @ 60? As the outputs are 5 and the inputs 10...
Therefore 1 to 1 ratios?
