One thing I would say is, if you're not doing it already, train up Marketing and Daytrading to at least level 3 each (Marketing 3 lets you put up remote sell orders up to 10 jumps, and Daytrading 3 lets you modify those orders up to 10 jumps), and start placing your buy orders at 10 jumps. Your orders will fill a lot faster, and you'll be able to plop the goods back on the market from right where you are.
Your margins, overall, are going to be smaller in Jita, because trading is more active and competitive, which drives potential profit on the average ISK down significantly. You can certainly find good stuff, but you really have to hunt for it. And when you build up that NAV to its first billion, you're going to start to find it more and more difficult to draw good returns on all of it.
By buying and selling within even 10 jumps (but ideally the whole region), you're ensuring a good movement in buy orders, thus solving the disparity in buy/sell movement. It's really the only way to go when you find yourself in that situation.
Margin Trading might seem like a compelling fix for your slowish buy movement, in that it allows you to toss out more splashy buy orders at a time, and rely on your fast-filling sell orders to cover in the case of a quickly filled buy order. But it seems to me that you'd be better off actually finding a way to speed up your buy order fulfillment. Ways, such as the one I mentioned above, definitely exist, and they'll net you more profit almost instantly. If Jita alone isn't enough, the answer is to cast your net wider, and sell in places other than Jita. Remote trading is where it's at.
Also, it may not be pressing right now, at only a 300mil ISK bankroll, but it's well worth getting Retail up to level 5 so you'll be able to train up in Wholesale. Those extra orders are going to be necessary once you build up a bigger bankroll, because without them you won't be able to get all your money out into the market where it can make more money. And then you'll be sitting there waiting 8 days, or whatever it was, for Retail 5 to train, and meanwhile you have money sitting there unexploited.
