Edited by: Colonel Plissken on 19/05/2011 07:32:08 I love this game. I have been playing for a little over 2 years and have to say CCP you are messing up eve. Everything I loved about this game you are taking away. I live out in low/null sec as a pirate. You are making it so hard to live out there now. I see all your talk about trying to make it where more people go outto null to live but why would anyone go there now. How are you trying to make more people live out in null sec when you nurff it? I dont understand you wanting more people to go out there then you take the isk making out of it. It seems like all your doing it helping the misison runners and the high sec carebears. I dont like empire space and never realy go there unless I need to buy something. Why not make null sec better rather than worse. Why not make it a place where a lone pirate like myself can live and not have to ever think about having to enter empire space. Make a pirate haven where if you dont have a -5 sec status you cant enter that space or station. Why do all the "do good" people get everything. I get killed if I go into high sec why not make a pirate concord that will kill if you have a high sec status in pirate space. This game is so one sided its unreal. Let us have a black market in pirate space like how they have in high sec. Give us pirates something to look tourd. I will admit I have stoped coming on eve as much as I use to. I was avid player that would spend at least 5+ hrs a day playing. Now I just log on to fix my skill que when needed. I have been on the edge of just canceling my accouts as it is .... help me out make the game fun again. Make it where the evil pirates can come on and have fun too. Forget about high sec and look at your inner darkness ... Get your hands dirty! Give the pirate players whats over due. A place to call home!!

Well beyond the normal tears, he does have a point. There have always been pirate havens. From Tortuga in the early days of sailing to the modern day pirates who operate out of Somalia, they've always had someplace to swap stories and swig rum.
Perhaps opening up some portion of Jovian space? A renewed conflict between them and the Amarr could spill over to the other factions thus turning Jove space into a no fly zone for people in good standing with empire space. The pirates could then act as agents for the Jovians as a privateer fleet so to speak. This could also entice the good people of the empire to cross the line themselves. Tie in tier 3 ships and equipment for the empire and a new line of Jovian tech for their side.

A place to call "home". And then you blow each other to bits and pieces. You want a functioning market but you gate camp down the suppliers. The moment you see a neut in local your only thoughts are, "lets kill it". Your backyard is filled with tons of precious (sort off) minerals yet you're too dumb to allow anyone to mine it and too afraid to mine it yourself so you can build stuff there cheap.

Eve has not changed that much in 2 years except for a few addons that you can take or leave. I think, my friend that you went in the wrong direction and not CCP. The descissions you make really do affect your eve experience as you are finding out albeit too late. You can't play for 2 years as a sociopath and expect no consequences. Start a new toon and try and get it right next time.

And the truth behind it all is that CCP makes the same amount of money from you. Like they give a **** if you enjoy their game, so long as you pay for it. -----

The OP is the latest to make this very valid point.
Eve is going the same way as America - becoming a large and sophisticated economy, it no longer has its Wild West frontier. That is why so many people feel that the game is going backwards.
The answer: Open up some new non-sov nullsec territory, places that can be easily accessed by carebears with riches to attract them... but also provide a fertile hunting ground for scumbags and scallywags.
Two simple ways for doing this:
1: Get rid of jumpdrives and bubbles.
2: Reduce high and low-sec systems with low occupancy or through traffic to nullsec. Let Concord withdraw from all of these little used systems, so they can concentrate their efforts on protecting hi-sec hubs, their immediate hinterlands and the trade routes between them.

Eve history lesson #314:
Oddly, people left empire for nullsec before the anom buff. Now it's been nerfed back to how it was before, that is somehow different?
Also, this may be useful : Paragraphs, when and how

He's right, you know. I'm a highsec carebear because, well, why the hell not? The Jita market beats everything else in terms of availability and level 4 missions beat everything else in terms of risk-free profit.

In the first few days of playing Eve I never realised that all four races were contiguous in high sec. To this day I can't work out why CCP created the map this way. Logically I would have thought that since these races are supposedly at war there would be at least two distinct areas of high sec separated by low and null sec space. IMHO I think this would have improved the game as High sec dwellers would be more tempted to leave safe haven as shortages in one HS would drive prices higher and create demand.

This.
Having been in 2 lowsec alliances, and 3 nullsec alliances, I was shocked at how little common sense any of them displayed. For example, even the miners with almost no combat skill are forced to join CTAs (Which, depending on the alliance head's attitude, can be near constant), if anyone wants to bring a shipment of supplies in from empire, be careful which jumpbridges you use because some might be off-limits for no apparent reason, and don't use a neutral alt to bring the stuff because your alliance mates will attack, even if you've done your very best to let everyone know that it's you.
And I haven't even started on all the pointless fights and roams that don't have any objective, and succeed only in throwing isk away (isk which I recall a number of alliance members openly admitting they got thanks to botting).

Altought i'm not fully sure i think older vets can confirm this was the case in the early days, with a couple of low sec systems between empires until CCP added the highways

Posting in a whine thread about changes in the game giving more reason for the so called carebears to stay in high-sec instead of heading to 0.0. Therefore they won't need to travel through the low-sec gate-camps (so called pirates/pvpers )to get there.

How about "Letters of Marque" like the old maritime empires of Earth used to give out. Let's say you have a Caldari letter of marque ... then you'd be allowed in Caldari high sec even if you have a low security status. In return, you would not be allowed to pirate in Caldari-controlled low sec, or else you lose your letter of Marque.

Wait a sec. The complaint is about not having a place to hang out to make it easier to pirate? Then you don't go into high sec due to carebear/automated stuff versus player driven stuff.
EVE promotes group participation in order to achieve things especially in null. Go band together in a corp, set up a POS as a pirate haven and set up your own security division to keep others out who are not part of your merry pirate band. It's all the rage!
P.S. I would prefer if CCP would add asteroid belt player run pirate outposts though.

Why would he do that, sounds like he's only interested in the super complicated and skill intensive pirate pvp, aka gate camping lone players. You can't have pirates interacting they only want to blow things up and ***** when others don't the play the game in a way that allows them to easily get their kills at gate camps.

Edited by: Illwill Bill on 19/05/2011 13:45:13 CCP just gave low-sec missions something that might remotely resemble a buff, at least if you take off your glasses and look the other way. They also nerfed missions in high-trusec hisec, Null is getting large phallus-like objects shoved into their deadspace pockets, and WH's are irrellevant to this equation. Thus, lowsec is the only part that actually receiving a boost.
While the bounty system and FW are in dire need of some love, I don't think there is much else that is wrong with lowsec, apart from the mindset of the people that live there.
You're a self-proclaimed pirate. HTFU, stop whining and ****ing prove it!

Looks like all the gate camps have accomplished their purpose. If you want targets in low sec, you bozo's have to stop locking all the doors in. Pavlov would be proud.
