Unfortunately my Nokia 3310 died 2 days ago and there is nothing I can do about it. I will miss that phone :( On the bright side I'm going to get a new phone, BUT 1. I don't want to spend more than 80$ on it and 2. I want to be able to run eve apps for it. Any suggestions? Good phones that go with eve apps? |

for the android apps: most of 'em will run fine on a phone with a recent android version
as for that, even older droid's quite often have the option to upgrade the system to one, so when looking for a phone and it says android 2.something just check if there is maybe a community build rom with a later version (just don't buy without checking =)

Evanova supports Android 2.1+ to 4+. I believe Aura supports 2.3+.
There are less and less phones around with Android 1.6 or older so I believe you are safe with whatever Android phone you can get. |

Don't buy a new android phone unless it has 2.3 on it. Personally, I wouldn't buy one that doesn't have 4.0 on it. Also, asking for recommendations on a phone without saying what country and carrier is rather pointless. You may also want to look at a used phone. In the states, you can find year old phones on craigslist that where top of the line phones when they came out, so probably still going to be better then any new $80 phone. I am in Romania and the network provider is Cosmote, I don't know how much this helps. I am interested in running Aura and maybe there is an app that gives be the ability to be logged in EVE chat from my phone. I am basically getting a gift card from my provider that is worth 50 euros and I am willing to spend a bit more on it. I set my eyes on the Samsung Galaxy Chat and the Samsung Galaxy Duos (unfortunately the single SIM version is not available :( ). Any other suggestions? Maybe you use a specific phone that works great and they have it. http://www.cosmote.ro/en/display.aspx?style=styles&ns=-10000&cid=17082 here is the list with their available handsets, iPhone and BlackBerry are excluded from this list because they require a special type of subscription. http://www.cosmote.ro/en/handsetoffers.aspx?style=styles&ns=-10000&cid=17130 these are the price offers, 1 euro= 4.5RON or 1USD= 3.5 RON. From the L plan amount deduct 50 euros/ 80USD. |

I went top the representative and he recommended me the following phones: Sony Ericsson neo V, Samsung galaxy Chat, Samsung Galaxy Y Duos, Sony Ericsson Arc S, Samsung Galaxy Ace or any phone that comes with android 4.+ and at least a a dual core processor if I decide to spend a bit more on it. What do you think? Should I make the "sacrifice" and pay mo for something better or it's not worth it for just Aura and chatting? |

I currently use a phone very similar to the HTC One X (HTC EVO 4G LTE) on Sprint in the US. Anything with 4.0 will do what you want and more. Your best bet is to look online at the reviews. They are kind of like shoes, one size does not fit all. EVEVERIFY - A recruiting API Verification and Audit Tool

If you are getting your first smartphone you need a SIM card deal that has a data allowance. I got my first android smartphone some months ago. I got it with a 'pay as you go' SIM, not contract. So long as I topped up -ú10 every month I got 500MB of data allowance for 3G\GPRS connection for the next 30 days.
Generally for android smartphones its better to have a dual core CPU with at least 512MB of RAM. I say that as my first android device was a cheap non brand 7" tablet of ebay. It had a single core VIA 800mhz CPU and 256MB of RAM. A lot of more demanding apps from the Android play store needed 512MB of RAM and the tablet was slow with apps like sat nav that had to render the screen many times a second. I since have got a Sony Ericsson Xperia mini Pro that has a good dual core CPU and 512MB of RAM. The slide out tactile keyboard is neat. It runs all apps fast enough and it can run MAME games too. But the display is too small to read web pages easily. |
