Looking into strat cruisers recently.
Seems most people are using Tengus more than Lokis.
Looking for an idea on how most fit and use a Loki (All Secs).
Looking for an idea on how most fit and use a Tengu (All Secs).
Curious as to why Tengu is so common in null as opposed to other Strat Cruisers.
Discussion is appreciated.

Without having done excessive research on the Tengu, I'd assume the reason for it's popularity is the same of the Drake.

There are a lot of ways: 1. Super Huginn/Rapier, with more DPS and tank. 2. Super Vaga with a web. 3. Super Cane with twice the EHP. 4. Super Muninn with a third more alpha. 5. Brick-tanked web AHAC.
I'm not going to spam out the thread with EFT for all of them.

1. 100MN AB for a solopwnboat. 2. 10MN AB for gangwork, sig-tanks like a beast with two or three times the EHP of a Zealot. 3. MWDing kiting fit.

Ratting and plexing.

PVP, yes.
Target painter pretty much answered what I was asking. One more thing though.
Is loki a viable PVP solo-er? And what kind of targets make for juicy sex?

Depends on what flavor of solo PvP you are talking about.
If you're looking to simply gank ratters and haulers, it's certainly viable as a cloaky, nullified gankboat. Just be aware that configured that way, it's terrible at actually fighting and a bog-standard Cane or Drake will kill you.
For actual standup solo fights, anything a Vaga or Cane can take, so can the (not covert) Loki.

I'd say so, yes
Use the element of surprise, superior mobility and judicious use of the web range sub and anything is possible

Confirming that for pvping moon harvasting arrays and silos you need to use element of surprise, or they will not engage.
I personally like the idea of plated loki as long range tackle support for armor gangs, gives you survivability that you could never have in rapier - 200k ehp and up /to really high numbers, depending on isk invested ofc/.

Good day:
I'm still learning about T3's for PVP.
"2. Super Vaga with a web. 3. Super Cane with twice the EHP."
Where can I find fits for the above?
Thank you.

2. This is the one I prefer: [Loki, Super Vaga w/ double web] Gyrostabilizer II Gyrostabilizer II Tracking Enhancer II Nanofiber Internal Structure II Nanofiber Internal Structure II

40K EHP, runs about 2200m/s without links or implants, 3100m/s overheated, does 502 DPS, 23km of falloff with RF PP, 35km with barrage. Just as a disclaimer, I always run with skirmish and siege links in this.
3. [Loki, Supercane - t2] Gyrostabilizer II Gyrostabilizer II Tracking Enhancer II Damage Control II

Warrior II x5 Hornet EC-300 x5
587 DPS using faction PP and including Warriors, 91K EHP max-skilled, 1884/ms before heat or links. I fly this one more often, the extra tank expands the target selection a bit (i.e. HML Drakes) but I have to have better intel/scouting in the area because it's much harder to disengage. Especially against FOTM Cynabals.

This might be a little off topic, but purgers vs extenders on loki?

I dont think there's a good passive shield tank loki fit. Go with extenders.
Though I armor tank mine so what do I know?

Confirming the Loki is a viable solo pvp boat, especially with dual long range webs, AC's with barrage/tracking enhancers and cov ops sub :)
Battle clinic 'lacal' and there should be a fair few solo kills, including tengus :) (I would linky, but I'm using IE6 at work and battleclinic hangs the browser!)
Most of the kills are FW mission runners / standard mission runners but there are some 'proper' solo pvp kills in there against fleet stabbers / hurricanes and the like

T3 nullsec delivery cargohold, SBing super 100mn tengu, then PvE tengu, then Loki dual webbing (or scan res) inty destroyer or proteus buffer electronic warfare god.
Thats the order of things as far as I know
