Hello there everyone,...
I've been trying to help out a buddy of mine that used to play EVE together with me. He's been trying now for about a day or 10 to re-activate his inactive account but has not been successfull at all. I talked to him today and he said he got this message: Login failed. Possible reasons can be: Invalid username / password Incorrect character name entered Account is expired or banned
as i see it, chances are he forgot either his account name, password or in the worst case both... also as he's not able to log in, i'm also wondering what steps he has to take to re-activate his account. Since he's not able to log in i'm writing here to ask you for help and trying to find some information on what he has to do to be albe to re-activate his account. Unfortunatly i'm not all that computer smart either so please be as clear as possible if you try to explain something so that i might be able to tell him what to do.
To all that area willing and able to help us out, i'd like to thank you all in advance for all the help and patiance.

First off, he should try to locate the email he received when he first created the account. Cross your fingers that he didn't delete it. If he locates it, that's where his account name should be stated. Alternatively, if he received a "reactivate your account for 5 days for free" email from EVE recently, the account name should also be stated there.
Once he has the account name, he can try to remember the password. If he doesn't remember his password, he should use https://secure.eveonline.com/forgotpassword.aspx
If he can't locate his username anywhere, his only other choice is to file a petition with as much information he remembers and hope he can prove the account is actually his. https://support.eveonline.com/Pages/Petitions/CreatePetition.aspx _

Alright,...
All i can think of at the momeny is,.. omg, i hope he did not throw away his account information mail... This is not looking very optimistic as i've got a feeling how he handles his mails.. Gona pray for the best and relay these two links to him. Thanks for the info. Wished there was more i could do for him, but i've been staring my selve blind on all the info out there and am actualy getting more confused by every page i read...
Het's see how this info will work out.

If you could do too much more than that I would be able to petition them and says, "I have an account I can't remember the info for. I had a pilot named Clone Whisper..."

Even remembering the email address he used to set up the account should be enough to start the "reset your password" ball rolling through an email to [email protected].

Alright,.. i spoke with my buddy on facebook jst now,.. He filed a petition becouse he retreved both his user name, password and caracter name,... the problem he's having now is that he can't log in.
I told him he can't log in to the game launcher becouse he doesn't have an active account. However, he's not able to log in to the account management either. He filed a Petition and got teh reply taht he should use the option "Hours for PLEX" in account management.
here's where two things go wrong i think,.. the first thing is, he can't log in to his account for some reason. Don't ask me how. (i'm gona try and see if i can help him out by sending him a link to reset his password again). The other thing that seems to be going wrong here is the reply of the GM that helped him with the reply to his petition. I've done some checking on one of my accounts in the account management and there is no option for "Hours for PLEX".
So my two cents here is this: -what can be the couse to not being able to log in to account management/ what is the possible solution? -Where can i find an option in account management with "Hours for PLEX", so i can send him the link?
I know this must be a bit of a pain to you guys about me asking all this, but i realy am trying to get him back on here again. We used to had a blast running those missions and stuff and i'm realy missing my wingman...

This might be a job for a physical move to your friend's house, or at least voicecoms + TeamViewer. What kind of error messages does he receive, and when did that happen ? Yesterday the entire site was down for a few hours, for instance. _
