Presently, the only scamming that is bannable is that which involves PLEX and character transfers. Basically anything that involves real money. If I were to scam someone out of a pair of pants would that be a bannable offense like it is with GTCs / PLEX / characters?

PLEXs stealing are not banable just as ganking them isnt banable.
Idiot.
They are INGAME ITEMS once you handed over your cash for the item, it is IN GAME.
Quit your crying over your stupid loss.

GTC and character transfers, you mean ? Because you can scam PLEX as much as you like (as long as it doesn't involve charitable donations in one of the PLEX drives). So you can also scam anything involving AUR or AUR-purchased items. _

Piracy, ganking, looting, etc are obviously not bannable. Oh right, you're the new ****** troll on GD. Forget I ever responded.

OMG, I'm agreeing with Miilla...
But yeah, if you want to actually steal the shirt off someones back, it's probably going to be possible. Once the GTC is converted to in game items/currency, it's fair game...

That may be the case.
Changes were made to the way plex can be sold specifically to stop scams though because it was too similar to real life fraud.

Originally PLEX was a special case - bound to station etc. Last year they changed it so its a normal in-game item.
ALL IN-GAME ITEMS CAN BE SCAMMED, STOLEN OR DESTROYED

They did end up making them in-game items?
I had always figured that purchasing these items would then unlock and make them selectable from the customization screen. As opposed to make the items in-game and able to be traded.
Originally by: Mikhail Dmitriev involves PLEX
As others have mentioned, PLEX scams are allowed in the same way as any other item.
GTC's are another story.

Funniest bit there is that Australians take nothing seriously except football. And by football I mean Rugby.

I've bought a handfull of plex for hundreds of thousands rather than hundreds of millions.
Did I feel bad about it? A little.. but hell I figure most of them making the mistakes were drunk and for people with a drinking problem, the sooner they start seeing consequences, the sooner they're likely to re-examine their behaviour to assess if they are in control of when and how much they drink or not
(he he, itsn't it great how I can feel i'm still taking a moral high ground there... and if someone writes me the right letter after taking a market loss I might make their sting far less too depending how they put it and if I bought how their circumstance deserved a little pity (i.e. had to rush to a kids soccer game, wife agro and that he'd had to twist her arm into sparing the $ from the family budget as it..etc)
