so when we can dress our characters up do you guys think CCP will be wise enough to implement clothing with bonuses? for example, trousers of charisma, that grant a one or two points to your charisma attribute. or a cape of gunnery, that grants 5% rate of fire to your guns.
i think this would be great, what do you all think?

I think that I have fallen into a time warp and I am now playing 1970s Dungeons and Dragons.

Probably troll thread but I'm going to take this opportunity and say that it would be awesome if we could put our militia ranks (and medals?) on our clothes :)

Also supported.
The idea of clothing with bonuses is pretty ridiculous IMHO. As someone else stated it's too much like Dungeons and Dragons or World of Warcraft. We have implants, we have booster drugs. This is a spaceship game of science not magic. I shouldn't be able to get an edge on someone else's spacecraft in combat because I am wearing magical pants.
Personally I would just like to see some clothes with more variety.
-Militia uniforms are good for a start. Hopefully they will be different for all four faction militias. -Pirate clothes would be cool too. Sort of Punk style/ rocker style/ Mad Max looking. -Civilian clothes for the four major factions would be good as well. Amarr and Minmatar are clearly very different people with different cultures so why would they dress the same? Before the character avatar upgrade the Caldari seemed to like Military style clothes, the Gallente liked 1960s retro-futurism clothes, the Minmatar liked street punk apparel, and the Amarr liked their medieval robes. -Keep with these conventions and add onto them. The religious Amarr may have certain conventions for their clothes, such as all women have to wear a veil or keep their ankles covered. Medieval sumptuary laws meant that certain styles and colours were dictated to certain professions and social classes, so among the Amarr maybe only religious reformers could wear robes, and wealthy commoners would wear a blue tunic or something. The Minmatar would wear the clothing styles of their various tribes, inspired by designs such as African, American Indian, Arabic, etc.
-This might be an unpopular idea but I think you should have to BUY some clothes. There is a problem in EVE with inflation where the ISK sinks don't match the faucets. I think if you gave some people the opportunity to buy some kinds of clothes just to look different, they would jump at the chance. After all, people are willing to buy clothes in Second life or IMVU and so on. -You could even have some rooms in stations that are 'formal attire only', so they don't let you into the room unless you are wearing your 50,000 ISK Tuxedo or whatever. -This would also be a good way to tell at a glance how wealthy/ powerful a character might be at a glance when you meet them in a station. Newbies will be wearing a default 'cadet' tunic, Faction war pilots a uniform with rank, Pirates might look shifty/ scary, Traders might be wearing very expensive clothes, etc. -It might even be possible for a player to make some of these clothes and sell them, although this defeats the idea of creating an 'Isk sink'.

wise enough? I think clothing with bonuses for no reason is not a good idea. Do you jack your trousers into your brain for a boost?
As far as the clothing there will be more.. and some of it will be available from the CCP store for purchase with plex and a new currency you buy with plex outside the game.

It was already stated that these were going to be vanity items and not affect game play directly.

i would also like to see pirate-y clothing like the pirates of the Caribbean, just because it would be cool (and it could be expensive)
EDIT: also maybe "facial reconstruction" to go back to the character creation (except for race/origin) to re-work they way your char looks from scratch, make it expensive and no refunds and all...

Clothes that show off your corp insignia or medals i can recommend. But what you are suggestion is microtransactions for boosts. A far less invasive microtransaction was suggested a while back (plex for remap) and that was sent the way of the dinosaurs quickly.
