I haven't done missions for over a year now, and today tried my first few, and the agent sent me anywhere from 2 to 5 jumps away, is this standart now?

Technically combat encounter missions can be anywhere in the same constellation though I'm not often sent more than one jump and very rarely sent more than two. Courier missions will cover a wider distance though.

Anywhere within the same constellation is the standard.

I *think* the distance you have to cover in order to reach the encounter depends on your standing with the agent you've taken the mission from.
To be confirmed, though.

A little while back they made some mission changes to try to spread people out a little. Most of the encounter missions have flexible locations, and the server tries to pick a location that's low population. They do limit combat missions to the same constellation as the agent (no such limit on courier missions), and a few of the mission like Recon always take place in the agent's system, but otherwise it's based on how crowded a system is. The more popular the mission system, the more likely you are to be sent nearby. ______________________________________________________ PVP is a question that has no one right answer but a lot of wrong ones. - Aelana Anais

As Mentioned, it used to be partially based on standings with the agents. If server load is currently taken into consideration then the new agent changes SHOULD help you and everyone out as all l4's are now equal (SS aside) so server load should dissipate a bit to match. ----------- Never Forget the joy of finding a main to link to a scammer alt. It helps if your hub is in the center of the constellation instead of in a back corner. With it in the center you are never more than 2 jumps away from the mission since it seems to pick the system randomly from the same constellation.

Try a quieter system, if your agent is in a system with a consistently small population your missions will mostly end up in the same system or one jump away.
If the agent's system is busy you will be sent further away to a quiet system.

Then there is Wildcat strike. seems to always take you out 4 jumps, in the past.
