Hi there...In much the same way that a CEO of a corp may not want to appoint directors who eventually vote him out, how does an alliance which wants to grow beyond it's original single corp size keep it's reigns on executive power?
For example....Corp A forms a new alliance and Corp B and C come along and join. What Corp A didn't realise is that B and C are buddies and they immediately vote against corp A as executor. Corp A, who spent a billion opening their shiny new alliance finds that overnight they've lost control over it.
Am I reading this right? Other than either populating the alliance with CEO's of corps you trust 100% (is such a thing possible in Eve?) or using alts in one man corps to keep the balance of power in your own favour, what can you do?
Cheers

They can't to my knowledge force transfer but they can obstruct the normal operation of the alliance executor abilities until there is majority support.
You should not attempt forming an alliance unless and until you have the charisma and ruthlessness to make people unwilling to oppose you for control. Most alliances consist of a core corp surrounded by member corps who may have the numbers to cause a crisis but lack the will to risk the consequences of doing so.
Tl;dr, if you're afraid of a takeover you should not be trying to form an alliance in the first place.

1. In the early days having a holding corp in the allaince makes it more difficult for people to change decleration of support. This is for when your getting your first few corps.
2. Active executer and 2nd in commands, if your active it makes it harder for the other ceos to get frustrated with the alliance, furthermore it makes it difficult for a different central leader from another corp, or your own to emerge if you are out there leading more on this later.
3. As you grow you will find that the more corps you have in the alliance the harder it will be for them to democratically agree on which corp should take the reigns from the current executer. this epeen is good as it requires greater then 50% of the corps to vote for an executer changeover. The only possible weakness is that if you are inactive as an executer a new central leader may emerge who will be able to unify the other corps in the alliance and get them to all change there decleration of support to a new corp.
4. Spies, cultivate relationships with allaince memebers, directors officers and ceos. Keep a couple of them on the downlow, since decleration of support requries 50% chances are they will be approached if there association isnt known, and they will let you know whats up before it is to late and you can boot the offending corps maintinaing control of your allaince. 6. if there is alot of corps joining and leaving this is made ahrder as the changeover is only instant when no corps have joined or left the ally for 7 days, so use this game mechanic to your adavantage.

Trust me .. being an executor is sh_t work ... but some enjoy playing the game that way
Typical gaming session:
1) Log in 2) get bombarded by convos 3) read mail - respond to mail 4) handle in house gripes 5) undock 6) re-dock because something happens pertaining to #'s 2-3-4 7) undock for a few minutes 8) log off
Thank-You,
