So, stealth bombers recently got reworked so that the hulls look different from the T1 variants. I think this is great because invention would imply that what you get is different than what you started with right? Could this be applied to all the T2 frigates and maybe even all T2 ships in general in later updates?

The stealth bombers needed to be revamped because of the visible missile launchers.
Other ships won't be reworked to that extent. |

Other ships won't be reworked to that extent. Not to that extent, most likely.
But they said that they will be making them more differentiated. |

I'm not saying to that extent but some visible ship differences would be nice.

Um, there are no T1 bombers. >.>
I for one love the fact that a pilgrim and curse look like a pimped out arbitrator. I love the retribution and vengeance, they don't actually look like punishers or each other. The skins alone and subtle model additions are perfect (for me). You also need the T1 hull to produce the TII variant. TII ships are actually (read: 'thematically') highly modified versions of an actual T1 hull. They're not completely different ships that happen-to-use-same-model-as-random-T1-due-to-developer-laziness at all.
Even if that's the case actually, and it could be, like many things in EVE it's designed in such a way as to be masked by thematic consistency. THAT is very cool.
So I don't see a problem here at all. |

So I don't see a problem here at all. The Stealth bombers still look like their T1 hull variants, you can tell what frigate they evolved from without looking at the description. The same should be applied to all T2 ships, model changes that share the general look and feel of the Tech 1 hulls yet at the same time are evidently not the same ship would be brilliant. |

I'd liek for models to be more differentiated aswell.
However, I'd also like to be possible to buy or produce different paint schemes once they're done remodelling them. |

Um, what? They still look like their T1 hull variants?
Get ingame and look at an Inquisitor (which is about to become a logistics frigate btw) and then have a look at a Purifier.
There is (now) NO relation whatsoever between the two.
I kinda get the impression that you're Caldari pilots and this is basically an "Our HAC's look terrible could we please get some cooler cruisers?"
I sympathise, strongly. I'd support an 'ugly ship overhaul' project for EVE. But you're threatening to take away the vengeance, the curse, the pilgrim and so on - forever - for some unknown new model(s) you assume we'll immediately prefer.
Some of us fly sexy ships already.
Please leave them alone.
Look, you know that cringe worthy yet kinda addictive show 'Pimp My Ride' where everyone screams at the camera all the time? That's what we have now (without the screaming). Punisher goes in, Vengeance comes out. It's a body kit and spray job with electronics from another world; but it's the same boat. What you guys seem to be asking for is a chick brings a Mustang to Exhibit, and his toothless homeboys, after beating the crap out of it with sledgehammers, simply bin it and give her a Veyron. Go, ingame, look Inquisitor, look Purifier. Come back.
Kestrel to Manticore - yeah I can see what you're saying (and that's Caldari, interesting, lol). Inquisitor to Purifier are utterly alien to one another though. I don't want that becoming the norm regarding TII. It's not a 'variant' of an Inquisitor it's a completely different ship.

The Purifier is just an Inquisitor with the missile racks and bigger engines.
Also... logistics, really? CCP, why? |

Please, that's like saying an Armageddon is just an Omen with a longer body and a thinner ass. Their aesthetic relationship is that they are both iconically Amarrian yet they remain utterly distinct hulls.

Yes. . indeed :\
Though that's a rant for another topic (and there is one, check the sticky's) I think it's a travesty that they're using the Inquisitor and not the still seemingly ad hoc Post-Inferno Tormentor for such a role. Amarr is to have no T1 rocket frig, and thus, no logical stepping stone toward Khanid specialisation for new Amarrian players (or Khanid specialised FW toons for that matter, or early Caldari or even Minmatar cross trainers to Amarr). Inquisitor always sucked of course, but I'm sure a lot more of us would prefer to see it unsucked and become a dedicated rocket frig competing toe to toe with Caldari T1 frigate equivs than thrown into the dustbin forever.
Tormentor would make a better logistics frig if they're doing that anyway - I mean, it's really got no history. Inquisitor was always one of those 'I wish it was good' frigs. A logistics role won't deliver that.

Honestly, as cool as it would be, I think CCP has enough work right now integrating Dust and completely changing ships over to the new role system. I think the only ship re-skins we'll end up seeing are for ships that get rebalanced and no longer look appropriate, (additional hardpoints for example). |

The new manticore looks AWESOME!!!
However, like another player stated above, they're not so different that having used a t1 hull to create one would seem far fetched.

While is does look different than the manticore, you can still tell that they are brothers...
I for one would love to see this kind of conversion will all ships.

some t2 ships have different models, look at the amarr industrial and transport ship, the bestower has less engines then the t2 variant. not a huge change but you can see it. |
