It's a known display issue. You can make the client show the correct values by clearing your cache.
Please refer to this thread for a list of known issues.

I just cleared my cache, but this didn't help. Survey screen still shows a super low number. Any other ideas?

My bad - it seems there are two separate issues with PI output. Both have been fixed internally and will be deployed to Tranquility as soon as possible; I'll try to find out if there's a workaround available in the meantime.

I pretty much just moved one head around until I got good numbers somewhere on one, then moved all the rest to the general area. Don't pay any attention to what's being displayed with the heat maps on the planet, they won't show where concentrations are at all at the moment. It's a bit more tedious, but that's about all you can do for the moment to work around it.
Fortunately most of my extractors are on 2-5 day runs so I didn't have to touch many of them. - [SERVICE] Corp Standings For POS anchoring |

Workaround = Set it back to 1.5 and give yourself some time to properly test it out before you deploy it to tranquility and makes it unplayable.

Why is this the only forum posting I can find that even acknowledges that there is a problem with PI?
After having an open discussion on customer service you'd figure CCP would think of a better way to disseminate problems and fixes but really CCP you have a long way to go before we start thinking that you care about customers.

Well, if you looked in other boards other than general discussion, like, say, the information portal board at the top of the board list, you'd see they start a feedback and an issues thread every patch. - [SERVICE] Corp Standings For POS anchoring |

I just found that a day of P0 production was lost on one planet out of 5, so all PI operators - double check. Thanks goodness I was on a 2 day production cycle and it was obvious.
Sigh, I thought I had missed getting hit by the *^%$@# stupid, incompetent patch.

Let me help you:
Originally by: CCP Zymurgist EVE Online: Incursion 1.6 has been deployed. This release includes updates to the CarbonUI as discussed in this dev blog by CCP Snorlax. Please check the patch notes for full details of this release.
When reporting issues, please specify which client you are using (Mac or PC). This thread is for reporting issues only; for general feedback please use the feedback thread.
Issues fixed in the client update on June 1:
- Clicking on the name of a probe will now center the camera on it again.
- Setting ship speed to full would result in the ship making a 180¦ turn. This will no longer happen.
- Brackets were being erroneously displayed for missiles in flight.
- Warping to moons now results in warping to the correct spot in space. This is where your Starbases are anchored.
- Bookmarks were in the wrong location on the system map. They have been properly chastised and moved back to their proper locations.
- Bookmarks ended up in the wrong place and could not be approached.
Known Issues:
- There is a known issue with T3 ships that you have previously viewed. These ships have engaged their reverse thrusters causing them fly backwards. Clearing your cache will reset their on-board computer and cause them to fly in the correct direction again.
- If you are experiencing issues viewing some alliance logos, please clear the cache in the ESC menu, then restart the client.
- Planetary resources showing as 0. This can be fixed by clearing your cache.
- Anti-Aliasing is causing "ghost" windows to appear after dragging a window. Workaround is to turn off Anti-Aliasing
- Mouse Cursor disappearing. Workaround: Switching to window mode will cause it to reappear.
- Capacitor displays backwards in the fitting window.
- Brackets forgot how to play hide and seek and will reappear after undocking or jumping after being hidden
- The lockdown tab for corporate assets causes the window to stay open indefinitely. Possible work around is to click the help icon on the window and then change tabs before closing corp management window.
- Some PI structures in the planetary view are displayed incorrectly or not displayed at all.
- The capacitor readout on the HUD has a "lens flare" effect, which is not supposed to be there.
- Market orders are not displaying correctly on some machines.
- Hotkeys are currently working incorrectly - you have to press the hotkey before clicking on the object you want to interact with.
- The assets window "forgets" the selected tab after docking or jumping.
- The quantity pane on the item icons is too transparent.
- When running two clients on some machines, the client in the background crashes during jumping through the gate on the active client. In order to nail down this issue, we would really appreciate it if those affected by this issue could submit bug reports along with dxdiag information and logserver data. More information on bug reporting can be found here. Thanks in advance!
For those of you experiencing issues installing the patch:
- remove the file from the bin folder and run the repair tool
If that does not work, please post the client version you are attempting to patch from here, so that we can investigate the issue further.

Yes they broke it. Nul sec colonies, Barren planets are completly broke and are only extracting 20% of pre 1.6 levels. Lava planets to a lesser extent, maybe extracting 60% of pre 1.6 levels. Rest of planets appear to be functioning as normal
Catch was cleared, yady, yady, etc...

Confirming I have the exact same issue.

Yes there is thread with known issues, but no single word when it will be fixed. I do PI on three acounts on 15 planets in total. 2 accounts have completely broken colonies (missing structures) and all extractors now extracting quarter of materials as before. I'm loosing huge profit day by day, but there is no ack from CCP if they are aware of extractors bug and how they will compensate loss, because every day without fix does count in my wallet.
I'm specialized in baren and lava planets with 90% colonies.

It isn't true, shown values are correct and extractor really producing that tinny amount. I had in launchpad after 23h extracting 220 precious metals. So numbers what are shown are correct and I did harvest 1/10 of materials before 1.6 patch.
BTW: client cache cleared and client reinstalled. BTW these new numbers are same for all my accounts and computers. I do play on 3 computers with 3 accounts so I guarantee every computer and client have diferent cache, but if I log account from differnt computer then I see same low numbers. Extractors and amounts are broken and in known issues this is not mentioned. Every day does count.

This wants to get fixed very quickly, despite jiggling the pins around to get production numbers back up when installed the numbers returned to the very low state or zero. I have pos customers requiring my products to keep happy but mostly this is costing me precious iskies, I hope there will be compensation.

Same problem, still going on. Even clearing the cache and jiggling my heads doesn't keep the output up at expected levels.
Of course, could be "Low T".

According to numbers shown when placing extractor heads and amount really extracted after Install Program and submit. I found that if I do place head randomply not according scan grid colors I'm able to mine more. If I put heads on place where it show no material at all I'm geting better extracted amounts than If I put heads on white or dark red spots. From my POV it seems that scan map is completely off from real resource placement. BTW my relevant meta skill is at 7 so I supposte to see where minerals in average really lay in. Fact is resource being completely off place where I see them. I think this is root of so high difference between numbers when I do place heads and real low extracted amounts after I install program and submit. I have remote Sensing L4 and Advanced Planetology at L3.
Conclusion with my meta 7 scan map is completely useless. I must do oposite and place heads on spots where it show no materials at all to really extract something valuable.

This is really very annoying - the scan map has become useless in PI - clearing cache files did not solve anything

I agree, the only reason I pay for 4 accounts is for the PI. This needs to be fixed asap as our t2 production/pos's rely on it.

Presumably the prices of PI stuff is going to rocket as I can't imagine many people are going to be producing much for the next few days, I know I don't have the time for randomly trying to work out wtf is going on...

Can CCP at least acknowledge the dodgy yield issue? They seem to have listed everything except that, despite it being one of the first bugs noticed...
