When making a new portrait I usually have to clear my cache after the next daily downtime in order to get the portrait crisp and up to date. Since 1.6 clearing cache seems to ruin my portrait background with black lines and squares. Any way to fix this?

Anyone?
I've tried to take new portraits several times, but I still get these ugly black sections...

Same issue. Bottom half of my background shows up as black once the anti aliased version is uploaded.

I have noticed this too, first time was yesterday I think.
After editing a portrait the version rendered by my computer looks fine. However, after clearing the cache (thus forcing the client to download the remotely rendered portrait from server), the background is missing its lower half. The portrait shown in the forums and Eve Gate also has this corrupted background, presumably because it's loaded from the same image server. I tested this repeatedly with several characters and background images today, and all seem to be having the same issue. Older portraits that haven't been edited lately seem to be working ok.
I've noticed also other minor issues with the remote portrait rendering. For example, after clearing the cache, the character's hair may look quite different than it was in the locally rendered portrait. This is probably related to the "hair physics", since it's especially noticeable with ponytails and stuff like that.

This. I have a couple of characters whose portraits were taken before 1.6. They work fine.
So, will our portraits be fine when this bug has been fixed, or do we have to wait 'til the bug is fixed, and then make a new portrait?

This is highly annoying, has happened to me also, no way I can see to work around it, would appreciate some insight on this. ___

I am having the exact same issue. Except now when I tried on some glasses my characters skins changed colors and the glasses are pure white circles and the lighting is all messed up. Oh and did I mention since changing my video card settings my bra no longer renders in game?
Yeah Incarna is doomed. Your signature is too large. Maximum permitted signature size is 24,000 bytes. Spitfire Vote Support For Great Justice |

As you can see, the same thing seems to have happened to my portrait. I changed it yesterday. It appears as though the background is a window behind me.
I don't think it's related to the cache at all. Temp versions are rendered locally. Higher quality versions are rendered on the server-side and distributed to CDN servers. It appears the rendering on the server-side isn't quite right.
Iamden, given the lack of answers, I'm guessing that's a "no".

It seems if you have the shader settings set too low the portraits and character creator doesn't give you exactly what it should. I tried recustomization and my sunglasses ended up transparent until I upped my shader quality settings and texture quality for both the regular and character creation settings. Funny things happen if the shader settings aren't set to high. I don't know if I would trust the client to render the portraits honestly, the details should get sent up to CCP then it get rendered with high quality on their end imo. - [SERVICE] Corp Standings For POS anchoring |

Edited by: Danica Kaliinen on 07/06/2011 03:27:52 The local renders, while of lower quality, seem to be correct. For example, in the local render of my portrait, not only do I have the full background, the hair falls over my cheek instead of diving through it. Also, when using the haircut that Lotta has, the hair covers the eyebrows, whereas they bleed through and look awful on the server render.
I don't know what the deal is, but the server renders are just plain off. It would be nice to get this fixed.
(Edit: But if you must choose one... fix PI first.)

Edited by: Toscaria on 08/06/2011 20:59:02 Same issue here... Seems the be a problem with their hi-res portrait duplication. I recustomized yesterday (07 June 2011) and made a new portrait; it looked fine until today. Please fix this, CCP.

I have re-customized my characters in sisi (Incarna version) and cleared the cache after 24 hours or more. The server image was ok. So i could say it's fixed in the next expansion.
