So does this mean... New Eden having lesser tech then the Earthlings that may or may not still be alive in the mother galaxy. THe New Eden citizens would egt uber-****d if the gate ever reopened and Earth was like "Hey guys, were here for our sh*t back, so go die in a hole".
that might be fun, there frigates are the size of our titans, their titans being Jupiter-sized death stars.

I doubt it's that different, probably more similar between the four main races and the Jovians.
Hell, the Jovians may be the humans of olde.
(note that I am not extraordinarily well versed in EVE lore)

No. We lost all contact with Earth when that WH in Eve collapsed.
The New Eden galaxy could be well beyond the cosmic event horizon from Earth's pov.

Actually, the WH itself collapsed a while before contact was lost. They had built a massive Stargate to connect to two galaxies. But at one point the Stargate stopped working and thats when all hell broke loose.

I thought we built the eve gate in an attempt to stabilise the wormhole?
As for the Earth, they were at something like tech6 when we lot contact. Most of the colonise that had been established were either destroyed due to shock wave of the eve gate collapsing or were not sufficiently self sufficient to survive as a technological society.
The Sleepers, are thought to be one group that actual survived the collapse, the Jove were one of the first groups to recover, but even they have had several empires collapse, there current one is the weakest version.
If memory serves the Jove are currently tech 5 and if you read the back stories you will find out that happens when the Amar tried to invade Jove space. They lost battleships in 1 vs 1 fights with frigates. Jove ships start at 90%+ resistances across the board and then have 8hi 8 mid and 8 low slots and some cannot even be targets by tech1 ships.
Assuming Earth had not had a dark age, they would wipe the floor with use, however earth had taken over the whole galaxy and were starting to run out of resources before they found the eve gate. So there is a good chance that they were laid to waste in a war over resources.
Macrointel, the place were the nature order of the universe does not hold sway. Pirates and ore thief's are congratulated by carebears for the actions. |

I've always wondered why they replaced the useful intro video with this new one that doesn't explain anything. Its more like a propaganda video designed to boost morale of the new recruits. The old one had actual meaning. I know I probably wouldn't have even started to care about Eve's back story if it weren't for that video.

How do you think the Sleeper's found their way into New Eden? Some how someway they have found other EVE Gates in other parts of the Universe that connect to each other like the pipe of sink connects two sides into one main pipe that then empties into a large wormhole conduit that then eventually empties into space.
So somehow the Sleeper's have been able to breach the EvE Gate conduit's to find New Eden. With that in mind the Sleeper's encountered in New Eden are merely scout groups sent out from the main Sleeper system's that could be just on the other side of the edge of the New Eden Universe or they could be billions of light years away.
Just like the entrances into and out of Sleeper space evolve at other locations within New Eden and Sleeper space so too will the EvE gate eventually evolve into a new opening into another uknown portion of the Universe which might even lead New Eden to discover that Old Earth is still around and has colonized the far reaches of space.
Basically New Eden is a mobile wormhole that has been traveling the Universe for billions of years. When the two causalities of what created the rift between Old Earth and New Eden happens again the EvE Gate will re-open.
No one knows when that will be it could happen tomorrow or it could happen 3 million years from now. But when it does New Eden will encounter something new and wonderous as well as deadly.

Well, if I remember correctly the Sleepers were, like the Takmahl, Jan-Yung, Talocan and Jove an ancient empire originally located in New Eden and descendants of human colonist from beyond the EVE gate and settled in space that is today part of the Minmatar Republic. But for some reason they have left New Eden to settle the wormholes, were we can now find the ruins of their empire and of course the drones guarding them.
The terrans however were even at the time of EVE gate's collapse so immensily powerful that they would probably see the combined forces of New Eden as a pathetic army of babarians. Just remember Mekhios. And if we will ever see the EVE gate open again .... I don't know.

If I were us, I'd be worried about whatever it was that chased them into the wormholes and destroyed their civilization.

Also, the terrans would look at us like ants, amusing for a bit but you always grab the ant spray in the end.

you could use the quote frm that old TV show (Babylon 5, i think), the ambassador guy talked about picking up the ant and puttng it back down, and what the ant must ahvethought happened, relatng it to the shadows and other ancients.
