When clicking on an object on the display or the overview, it does a "Look at" action.
it's creepy for my mind !!!
edit: Once I right cliked on that object, it stopped the 'look at"

Yeah does the same for me. And it just did:
12:53:08 Notify Your targeting attempt fails because your ship is cloaked.
I was in a belt, leftclicking the gate to warp to it and got that message..
It seems a single leftclick now start to behave like a double leftclick or something erratic like that.

exact the same problem here!
...since last downgrade.
a single left mouse click in space does "look at", at every object in space.
and my overview is overfilled with "death objects". out-greyed ships, players,
wrecks, rats,... nearly everything i saw since last docking.
"a overviewed overview bug". crap.
thanks again for a superior patch!

a solution for me:
uninstalling the last recommended, not really needed, mini patch. (5.3mb, #3 i think)
option to uninstall that vermin can be found in options.
game work fine since uninstall. no more overview bugs or auto look at.

Agreed, this is a recent change due to patch. Prior to the most recent patch...
1) Clicking on asteroids or stargates or ships in overview would select the item. This only makes the selected item current in the "Selected Item" window. Clicking the "Lock Target" button would then add the selected item as a target.
2) Also clicking on locked targets would only make the selected item current in the "Selected Item" window.
After this most recent patch... Now...
1) Clicking on asteroids or stargates or ships in overview targets/attempts to lock target on the item.
2) Clicking on locked targets changes view to "Look At" the item.
I attempted to un-check/toggle the options that made this change, to no avail. I believe this is a user interface (UI)-wide change. I think this change is a mistake/problematic to normal game play.

For me, it's press a key on a keyboard (e.g. CTRL) and thereafter clicking on anything performs that function as if the key was still down (e.g. CTRL click = lock target, ALT click = look at). Even after that's been done once the next time you click on something that action is repeated.
Pressing ESC does not stop this action.
Repeatable 100%
I think it's a bug.

What a fiasco this has been, yet another update/patch that totally screws things up.
I can sum it up in two words "utter" "boll*cks" 
My ship seems to have a mind of its own, Im parked in space while I perform some functions and before I know it its heading off in some direction or other.
Mousing over things that keep performing a look at action is making my eyes BLEED! 
CTRL locking like a sticky key is pi**ing me of some thing rotten.
The overview not refreshing is just annoying now (clicking the tab seems to refresh it though)
And it just takes the ****in cake when I had the 'clear all settings' because I was unable to log for a while and was just hanging in the entering station phase of logging in, because there is a bug in the windows/notepad on leaving them open when logging off.
Im just thankful for Internet racing cars, come June 21'st Im taking a break for a few weeks coz thats where the sh*ts gonna hit the fan IMO.

CCP, wtf is wrong with this frikkin forum, why do I have to log in 4-5 times to post a reply only to get "time flux you going too fast" o "server error 500" ???? Its a JOKE!!!!

Uninstalling patch #3 solved this issue for me also.

ctl lock is now a toggle
press CLT for a second and you will see the words
"select an item to target it"
appear over your cap display
while the words are there you can click something and it targets.
press ctl for a second again and the words go away, now things won't target when you click on them.
annoying as hell at first, but I'm starting to like it more and more
