There is far more racism and homophobia in the US than Northern Europe.

Uh, yeah, sorry man, I've never seen so much racism all at once as when I saw how the fans in Luebeck treated a 2 Bundesliga football team keeper who was black. Banana peels being thrown on the field, n-bombs screamed from the crowd. I've never seen anything close to that in the U.S.
From my experience living in the U.S. and in Germany, the U.S. there is a long history of racism and racial terrorism, which means that racism is much more highly charged, but at the same time that huge charge leads to it being rarer in expression. Wheras in Europe, people think "well I'm not really racist" and so that's somehow an excuse to act like a lynch mob for kicks.
I've heard the n-word far more from Europeans than from Americans - and always in the context of a football (soccer) game.
edit to add: also, depending on the particular country involved, European attitudes towards Turkish, North African and Middle Eastern immigrants are just awful. Even in the most anti-immigrant U.S. politics, there's nothing approaching right wing (and even mainstream) anti-immigrant and anti-integration sentiment in Europe. Not every country is like that, but a lot are.

@Emperor Cheney,
Looks like your comment shut everyone up. Especially those that keep pointing to america as the origins of all things racist. Europeans needs to look in the mirror every so often for a reality check.
Good Reply.

I'd like to take the OP to meet some bro's of mine in Soweto. It might help him get over whatever fear of the black man he has. Then I'd abandon him there, and see if he could get his racist ass out with his skin still on.

Really? I'm implying I have friends in Soweto, who I have visited with, and they are my friends. If you want drugs in Joburg, you visit the Nigerians...

I'm not sure how you read into it that the OP had any fears of black people? He only said that Brutors look like gorillas. I can't see how that's related to fear or any other psychological matter.
It's quite common actually. For example, you can often hear about dog owners looking a lot like their dog. Some male children are said to look like their mother too.
I'm not saying it wasn't racist, but translating it into fear of the black man is just taking it too far.

I'm still puzzled as to why people are not offended when it was implied northern europeans hunt polar bears but if I were to say africans eat bananas I get the feeling people would cut themselves wailing in protest.

Most racism is rooted in fear, whether warranted or unwarranted.

Technically, Bananas are mostly from South East Asia. They are p. expensive in most of Africa, and therefore not really a food staple, just sayin'.

Is it still against the laws of god, nature and man to call someone Black? Is it still African-current nationality. I'm pretty sure I remember the more prolific forum *****s saying people should get banned for that a few years ago.

Two things:
1.) That's being judgemental. If I claim that Somalians have inferiour culture and values compared to westerners, and hate them for their horrible way of organizing their society, it is not because I'm afraid of them - it's because I think it's no good for people to live and act like that. If I say "Somalians are a bunch of utterly useless pirates", it has nothing to do with fear.
2.) It also brings up the question. What is racism? If subjective attitude towards looks is racist, then everybody is a racist. What the OP said might be downgrading and a not-so-sleek way of telling other how he thinks a certain group of people look like, but as far as I'm concerned, it says nothing about his views on the actual people. For all I know, he really likes the Brutor, and he also happen to think they look like gorillas. He might like how gorillas look (who said that animals can't be cute?), and he also might see grooming as a very good cultural trait for all I know...

How many Somalis have you befriended, in order to test your theory? Or have you just subconsciously built a fear of them because of Black Hawk Down, and now they are automatically inferior to your culture and values?
Also, at this point, we have to get into why Somalis live like that, from a geo-politics sense. You may not like what the answers to those questions bring up.

An interesting thing about the word "black." In hispanic circles, the Spanish word for "black" is "negro." Given hispanics come in a variety of colors, the word "negro" is alos used as a term of endearment. Basically it can be applied to anyone..including caucasians. I've been called "negro" and I'm caucasian. So it's all in the meaning you put into words.
For all you "I Love Lucy" fans out there: Ricky's famous "Babalu" song has some interesting lyrics.
"Yo quiere pedi Que mi negra me quiera Que tenga dinero Y que no se muera"
Literally:
I ask that my "black" woman may love me that she have money and may never die.
Again, in English it sounds offensive as hell, but in spanish there is no implied offense or even racial overtones as the expression "negra" could also be used for a white woman.

I said "if". I don't discuss my personal and/or professional opinions on peoples/cultures/societies with random people on the internet. The main problem I have with your posts, is that you're assuming to much, and are deciding in your own mind what other people put into what they are saying. Don't do that. It's rude.

lmfao.
EDIT: Despite all the racism in this thread, it would be somewhat interesting to see the different races in Eve have different mannerisms and reflect different customs in emotes, or social situations. Interesting and realistic, not racist.
However, the OP drowned any reasonable request the second he started talking about Africans grooming each other basically like monkeys and referring to slave childs....

On the other hand it would be hard for any player to top the racism exibited by the original devs when they gave the only black race in the the galaxy the lowest IQs in the game. And then for good measure they named the race a derivative of the word "brute."
