Edited by: Iphiclus on 08/06/2011 02:14:05 Locate some 'Engine Earz Experiment' - wondrous: Here are a few links to their stuff: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sSW32VcTtU4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XsP5N0eJClc&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cr33XAgbDY8&feature=related
http://www.youtube.com/user/EngineEarZExperiment Their own channel if you wanna hear some more..
There are loads of great tracks out there though, Chasing Shadows are another fine lot - great for Eve battle vids! 3 beauties! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ARUtIG5pYk&feature=channel_video_title http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZAbY2TVy7xQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=edEr-Zgsu9g&feature=channel_video_title
and a couple of others that I like - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=csj0sSMCjSY&feature=channel_video_title http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G6aF8jNt2ck
Don't listen to most people slagging off this style of music though, listen to what you like and to hell with others opinions - they don't understand anyway - if it's 'just noise' then they obviously just want to wind you up. ;)
I don't think the world has caught up with some music out there, maybe through simply not hearing it or unfortunately unwilling to open up enough to certain styles - a musical comfort zone if you will. There was a time in my life where all I'd listen to is metal - then the prodigy came along and made that bridge for me into the ravey/industrial area, them and Nine Inch Nails, Mad Capsule Markets, Pitchshifter etc..
I say embrace the lot - I'm even getting into Jazz fusion these days - Smells like teen spirit? Check this for an example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ArjktgzTP2s Posted that in local a few times and got great responses! 5hit is that the time!? I gotta go, have fun with those..

It's situational.
When you are gathered around a fire, a guitar works...
When you are in a club, or just feel like dancing your ass off, a guitar just doesn't hit the spot.

Edited by: Alpine 69 on 09/06/2011 15:44:02 I don't really enjoy the songs that people call "Dubstep" these days. I mainly listen to the material labeled as "Deep" or "Hyperdub'y" on that Reddit page called "So you wanna hear some Dubstep?"
For the people who like deep/melodious (ambient) dubstep; here's a new track from a starting artist: Nymos - Aurora

I don't believe in ambiant dub, it's better kept for black metal and trance IMO.

Dubstep is a very interesting musical style. Kind of like break core on steroids. Definitely not for people who enjoy the same-old 4/4 time signature with no tempo changes. I'm just starting to explore the genre myself, it's really interesting, but I've found that unless I'm activity listening to it that it can be annoying. It's not good background music.
