Hear me out. I dont dislike the Russians and I know some Russians type in English and people of some other nationalities use Cyrillic.
And I have no reason to think Russians cheat or RMT more than anyone else.
But Russians do tend to work together - largely because of the language barrier.
Should the rest of us acknowledge this rather obvious division, accept it, and begin to treat them as a common enemy?
Not that they are bad people or anything , its just that the nature of the language division leaves most of us at a disadvantage if try to apply the modern liberal concepts of diversity and acceptance in a cutthroat galaxy based on domination.

Its a somewhat different issue, but this may be part of the problem unfortunately. I agree the idea of everyone fighting most everyone sounds ideal.

This is still shooting blind in the dark.
RMT and gold farming is the problem. Its a problem in English, it's a problem in Russian.
Alot of other games can afford to come down on it with an iron boot. They have 2 million and up subs. EVE would crash and burn with 2 mill active subs and CCP can't afford to lose 50K to a crack down. |

Might I suggest an historically proven and surefire way of segregating and marginalising them? Put a red triangle on the hull of their ships, so that all can see them approaching and act accordingly

You're playing some game (THA GAME!!) with some interesting pluri-cultural comunity, yes the rules state that everyone should adress in english in all public chanels but doesn't happen. So what?
If you can't stop your self from smaking, and often in some even bad english than some not english natives, you can also do somehting else.
Should you be penalised because you don't speak academic english?
Should you be penalised because you don't like the idea of learning other languages, why so? every one should speak english...

The irony is that we (united states) are in bed financially with China. A country with policed internet. Demands their own EVE server to segregate any communication with the free world...yet has no issue hacking systems around the world. China is the problem, not Russia but it seems everyone is too stupid to see it. In the real world anyway.

Not saying its a bad thing. If we could easily ally with the Russians nulsec would be even more of a boring blobfest where everyone holds hands and farts rainbows all the time.

Just put a server side Cyrillic detection, once triggered player should be moved to Chinese server, problem solved.

Kidding aside, this is helping no one. Russian players are despising the RMT shops like anybody else trying to get ahead with normal in-game means.
Unless of course they¦re the ones actually paying the rent with EVE. 
German blocks, French blocks, Russians. Things like these are just part of the sandbox.
Hopefully for the US players, you will not experience the time when YOU need to bot to pay for YOUR rent. 
Though watching how you spend your monies ...

Yes with Chinese players on TQ the game will be more interesting. Main battle between Chinese and Russian players for the financial and political domination, and all other players like farm pets and whining addition

You're assuming the "modern liberal concepts of diversity and acceptance" are a good thing, even in real life - a far from proven fact! Indeed, people feel most safe and have a greater sense of community when they're surrounded by those who are just like them. It's quite similar in EVE, which shouldn't come as a shock.

Not all russians can speak properly even russian language. This is because lately there are many youngsters playing in EVE or shiptoasting on internet instead of doing their homework for school. Also there are many people from ex-USSR or internal republics in Russia who is not fluent in russian language at all. You cant ask from people to learn foreign language if they can't learn even their native (western countries also have such problems - latin-american illegal emigrants in US for example)

Well, the same rule can be applied on english-speaking kids, y'know.
On the topic: who cares? I friggin HATE when people are talking/typing on different languages in video games, and yes, especially in cyrillic (simply because russian fonts are usually absolutely hideous and large) . But in EVE it's kinda interesting instead. Y'know, with one global server and situation with NC and DRF, kinda actually feels like international politics, not just two "clans" goin after each other. AND I WANT CHINESE AND JAPANESE PEOPLE ON TQ! More racial wars - more fun!

That presumptuous feeling you get when you look at a nationality and assume that they all work together -- that's what being a moron feels like. Russians do tend to form more introverted communities -- more so than other ethnic groups in this game. This is partially due to the language barrier, and partially due to "western" "eve community" being a bunch of dumb and violent subhumans. If you look at Russian forums, they are no less full of drama and competition then these boards (maybe with slightly less racism).
Anyway, I think the amount of pure and unadultured hate towards the Russians in "eve community" has reached levels unseen since LV-RA war and it was back in 2008! I really wish CCP would merge Chinese and European servers at some point. I realise that probably will never happen, but imagine how hillarious it would be: if a handful of Russians (they are what -- 5-8% of the server population?) could sodomize and pillage the white man to a point where he would blame the government, the banks, "nucular stuff" in Japan, Putin, real world bribes and combat bots for his incompetence -- just image what a horde of Chinese players will do to him!

My anecdotal impression is that in high sec 5-8% sounds about right.
In 0.0 it seems more like 40-60%
