Yeah. **** this ****. What the hell is up with this? They've said its been both consoles THE ENTIRE TIME BEFORE THIS. What the **** is this?

My guess is Microsoft put too many roadblocks in their way compared to sony and CCP just said **** it ps3 only.

yeh, fanfest 2008 showed it RUNNING on an Xbox, guess sony offered them more money or somthing, or were cheaper.
or knowing ccp logic - uranus aligned with mars and 4 moons and told them to pick sony, and that must be obayed.....

To all the whiners, ask Valve why there's no Xbox integration w/PCs while there is for PS3. Since Dust's whole point is to integrate it to a PC game, your answer lies there.

It is extremely likely they did this because Microsoft is extremely restrictive about what gets patched, how often its gets patched, and how large the patches are. As one example, CCP has always been about free DLC and on the 360 Microsoft requires that companies charge $$$ for large content patches.
Take a look at what happened to Team Fortress 2 on the 360. It is *terrible* and never got new content or features because Valve wasn't allowed to release them for free.

Sure it's not a timed exclusive? Everyone knows the ps3 is only for single-player games. Xbox is where people actually go to play with friends...

All i have to say is there had better be a VERY good reason for this. and a very detailed dev blog is called for explaining... elsei wont shell out a dime for the game let alone an entirely new system.

Not really. They've never really said which console(s) it would be on, only that it wouldn't be on PC. For the longest time, some people thought it would only be on Xbox, solely based on them using an xbox controller during the fanfest presentation.

I can see the reason being Microsoft not playing ball on the single shard between dust and eve thing what so ever. Also forcing a cut from DLC.
I can see why its got to be PS3 exclusive but really wish it wasn't.

Why wouldn't CCP release the game for PS3 AND 360??? Reason? It's very probably the horrible restrictions on XBox LIVE that has lead to this. Of course it would make sense for CCP to release two skus. Why ignore the entire 360 FPS player fraternity unless they were forced to by MS red tape ****e?

PS: I'm a game dev and have faced the aforementioned XBox LIVE red tape many times in the past... XBox LIVE is great until you want to do something a little out of the ordinary with it :(

CCP's own EVElopedia Dust entry still lists a release on both Xbox and PS3. I'm assuming CCP
s decision not to correct this info was to keep the hype going as long as possible. |

I had to get new CC numbers because of Sony's **** ups...I'm waiting to see how far that **** goes in the next year or so honestly, I wouldn't trust Sony with any financial information at this point, they're still getting hacked...

no it hadn't, it's all up on youtube. they are asked, right after playing it live on stage if it will be for xbox. and they tell everyone, very clearly, that nothing is confirmed.

When I moved I realized I forgot DVD players and so I just bought 5 PS3's not knowing the difference. But I only have 4 T.V.'s! So I glued like 1000 M&M's to the 5th one as an art project and put it on a bookshelf.
Kind of feel bad about it now with all of these threads vOv haters are going to hate.
