I came back after doing a few mission and my 3 giant secure containers were gone. It was in .8 space and they couldn't be anchored. What happened to them? Can someone enlighten me on this?!?!

Approach unanchored secure container floating in space, right click "Scoop to cargo hold". Ka-ching.
This is why unanchored secured containers are not at all secure. They can be scooped, taken to a personal hangar, there the password can be retrieved, the container reprocessed to get at the contents etc. |

Unanchored containers disappear after a few minutes, just like jettisons.

is there a way to find out who took my containers? And why is this allowed in game?

Didn't you read gridzilla's post? Secure cans are NOT secure unless they're anchored. Anyone can come along and scoop them, and no, there's no way to track who. Use them in .7 and below, and train the anchoring skill to level 1.

Hey man, I was just asking a freakin question. Why do you have to be so condescending?

No way to track. And many things in this game are allowed which would be punished in the real world. That's just how things are. Anything floating in space belongs to those who take it. If you don't want stuff taken from you, make it so that noone else can take it beside you. The only way to do this is putting the stuff on station and lock it away, or ANCHOR a secure container and lock away your stuff there. Unanchored Secure Containers are not more than simple jetcans (only difference is that you can just scoop them up and worry later what they may contain)...

because your question was considered condescending by clueless veterans who don't realize that the name "secure" and the ability to set "password" would surely indicate that said options would work in "high secure" systems.
*shrug* it's just common sense.
Course, said n00b finds out right quick how silly it is to pretend a game should make perfect sense and that the disclaimers should be visible.
lol.
warning! CCP doesn't bother with disclaimers in this game because otherwise you'd get more disclaimers than information. ______________________ Best darned links ingame and out (backup) |

hence if you dont like secure cans being taken - get anchoring skill and anchor them down then they dont get taken away - common sense.
Id like to see time liked semi secure cargo containers ie you can put a 2 hour password on them after which they become common unguarded property - im sure miners and others would find them of some use.
