Good Sirs;
I have been playing 6 months and this is a great game. When I joined I had fantasies of cruising around in my rifter as a low sec pirate. I soon found that there are many more people cruising around looking for lowsec victims than there are victims.
In short, I got very bored with directional-scanning and moving on, scanning and moving on, when the only other players you met were either docked or doing the same thing.
So I realized that if I was going to PvP in lowsec space (as a loner) I was going to have to be the victim. There are some nice choke points where if you sit in an asteroid belt for even 10 minutes somebody is going pop in and try to kill you--and in my case they did kill me. But at least I was finally fighting one on one.
You have some fitting advantages once you decide you aren't going to run, you aren't going to make anybody stay and fight, and you aren't going to search. You can omit the warp scramblers and stabalizers and even the after burners and set yourself up as a startionary procupine. The downside is you are going to die alot so you consider it a victory if you can just make them give up on you and move on.
So you follow these rules--use only the lowest t1 stuff (the kind that goes for 5-9k) so that you can fit your rifter for under 350 and your thrasher for less than 1 million (including the ship of course). Since you don't know what is coming along you need to be able to fight at long and short range (and remember you don't have an after burner so yes they are going to get away, or close the range at will). Remember your basic objective is to fight someone, and if they do "get away" so what. Somebody else will be along on 10 minutes.
If you sit around in a thrasher you won't get as many customers as you will sitting around in a rifter. However, a rifter that doesn't try to tackle or escape can be fitted pretty tough. If you just calmly fight it out you can frequently outlast their scrambler and warp away anyway (though that is considered unsportsmanlike). As a note on fitting either the thrasher or the rifter make sure you have 125 autocannons for the close in and 280 art for the far out.
With ships that cost less than 1 mil ISK you will be able to pay for the whole expedition by killing 2 barons or 5 wing commanders while you are waiting around for the next pirate. In rifter vs rifter combat you will probably survive even with a pure t1 fit, because the other guy wastes his fit on tackle.
Of course, some players will come back after you with friends or a refit ship. I try to stay in the same system so they know where I live and I also vary my fit.

Hahahaha this is so stupid. Love the KB stats by the way...
Your plan to be a lowsec pirate should include you winning one or two fights (meaning fit a scram) and ransoming/ looting them.
Right now you're just the idiot people kill for the "lols" and move on.

Want to know what I do? I rain lowsec in a Merlin (scram included) and look for lone idiots in ships they shouldn't be flying (Harbs/Caracels/Hulks/Etc.) and kill them. It takes time, but I actually make ISK and have fun. Oh and I don't die everytime....
Try that.

Yes an excellent strategy. In summary: either die or let your enemy run away. Eve would be a better place if there were more pilots like you around.
