The old Hanger view, or the will CQ/Incarna be optional upon docking? We've done as much testing as possible on minspec machines, and it appears that CQ will run just fine on our current stated minspec. We did not, however, test everyone's specific Frankenstein homebrew tower, as that would literally be impossible. More on this though in an upcoming devblog.
Considering I can run 3 clients on Tranquility on one machine at the same time, with maxxed graphics and not reach the GPU processor temps I am seeing running ONE CLIENT on sisi at max graphics.... your minimal spec hardware line is pure bull****.
When I go from a 3 client temp of 60c to a single client temp of 78c something is wrong with your ****... -

I think CCP is trying to pull a SONY (Remember Vanguard?). That game failed why? Because the average player wasn't able to load and run the game with any assurance of playablity due to it's 1. **** poor coding (obviously CCP doesn't have an exclusive on that). 2. High GPU and CPU processing requirements (requiring high end [at the time] gaming machines to be playable).
Unless CCP really starts LISTENING to people (much like sony.. they don't listen until it is too late. One would THINK they would have learned by now)... I predict Incarna to be CCP's Vanguard. i.e. an utter failure. -

The newest build on SISI isn't terribly bad. On low settings I can handle three clients in space reasonably well. However, trying to dock all three at the same time took 1 1/2 minutes instead of the less than 15 seconds docking three clients on TQ takes. As this was the test server and there wasn't anybody around to see how long my ship hung in space, I have no idea if I docked immediately (normally) and the delay was due to loading CQ or if I hung in space that entire time.
My GPU only used 900 megs off the 1 gig available on it. It only used 65-75% of the GPU's overall processing power, and my temps stayed down between 60-70c running three clients.
However, my computers processor (overclocked from 2.6ghtz to 2.8 ghtz)... was buried at 100% utilization the entire time after loading the second client, even while in space. Thankfully this evening is cool as it is only 22c instead of my normal 30-32c.
But... what this does show is that I will be able to run 3 clients in space, docking however will be a pita.
