So I have been playing EVE on multiple accounts for about three years now, and have almost exclusively been a hardcore PvP player. I have participated in all of the faction warfare fronts (mostly Minnie/Amarr), pirated, hi sec griefed, and did quite a bit of null sec PvP. In all of my time playing, the game has never been in as bad as condition as it is in right now.
As far as low sec is concerned, the recent changes to mission mechanics have greatly increased the population of low sec. However, that great increase in low sec population is 75% MISSION ALTS. Faction warfare is at this point almost completely dead and the missioning alts are worst than ever (and they have always been bad). This has also made finding targets for pirates more difficult than ever, considering that very few people are actually out roaming for fights anymore, and ganking speed tanking frigs and stealth bombers is no exactly fun or easy. Since the new missions mechanics, PvP activity in the Minnie/Amarr FW front and low sec area specifically has nose dived considerably.
In null sec, the recent changes to renting have forced many of the smaller alliances out of null sec and into bordering low sec areas, and just like the new missions mechanics, this has alienated a considerable portion of active PvP players in the game. As it stands now null sec is more of a snooze fest as ever, with roaming gangs becoming less and less common. Sure cap fights and big POS fights are still common, but unfortunately due to the broken nature of super carriers and fighter bombers I cannot even find these enjoyable anymore.
Another thing that I find frustrating is, that with the release and production of Incursion/Incarna, ship balance and actual implimented features to the game have not even been touched. It is almost as if CCP cannot responsibly handle and manage their own game. There are so many gameplay features that need work and updating I don't even want to begin to list them, but they are there and they have been there for a while. OP and overused ships such as the drake, hurricane, falcon, and of course super carriers have not been addressed and updated. It is also pretty dissapointing that in this most recent Alliance tournament(AT IX), all of the team builds and the ships being used are exactly the same as the last alliance tournament because there has been no balance changes. This is pretty boring and I don't think I am even going to enjoy watching AT IX.
All in all I honestly think Incarna is the beginning of the end for what I loved and enjoyed about EVE, and the shift from being a PvP focused game to a very obviously now PvE focused game is a huge let down. However, the nail in the coffin for me was the announcment that the new Dust game was being released as a PS3 exclusive. Honestly I don't think CCP could have made a worst business decision as they are alienating most of their fan base on PC.
I just wanted to share my thoughts on why im canceling my subs. Does anyone else feel the same way about the direction of PvP and the game in general?

Whilst I wouldn't say I'm completely there yet, you are not alone. I've spoken to quite a few people and we feel the same way, in that we have bad feelings about the direction EVE is going. It's not really any one thing in particular, just the general feeling that it doesn't matter anymore what the playerbase thinks and how much help we try to give to CCP to improve their game, they don't really care about it.
I will hold off longer to see how it goes. Try Mortal Online or Fallen Earth they have single shard servers as well if you fancy that.

I can follow your arguments about the missing realtime balancingÖ and CCPs ignorance over the last year(s) for stuff that's already here - though, we found this 'news' out last year around this time (if I remember somewhat correctly), so this is old news and was to be expected (still 6 months to go till the 18 months are over). Personally I have some hope left that for Winter they finally start revisiting old content..
As for dragging the Dust-Platform into this I don't get you.

Because its a stupid decision and eve players would probably like playing dust without paying 400$ for a game

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, but do I care, not in the slightest.
When I play a game i'll make my own mind up about it.
Good luck in your next game.

@OP, see what this caused? You should have left the Dust-Platform out of this.. could had been a nice thread about CCP and it's failure to deliver or excel. But no, you just turned it into Dust-on-PS3-whine-thread-#342345234235. Hope you're happy.

And CCP said all along from day 1 - the goal with DUST was NOT to offer a new game to their core subscribers, but to EXPAND their market share and reach NEW players.
I agree with you that I won't be buying a PS 3 just to play DUST - but I at least get the business logic that led to the decision they made. --Vel

Yeah to be honest for people who are becoming disillusioned about EVE, DUST514 on PS3 is about 1% of the upset. It all comes from EVE itself.

So let me get this straight. Eve is always changing, but you don't like one of the recent changes, and your mad that they are not making changes you want on this patch. And the release of incarna that a lot of people have been waiting 8 years for is just too much for you to handle...
wow... You must not do any reading of the Dev blogs or know anything about the future plans for eve. I hate to break it to you, but this place is about to get a lot more exciting... Thankfully I wont have to listen to your crap while I'm having fun. Have a good life.

Going for consoles is a good business decision though and excluding PCs makes it so the console monkeys won't get stomped by the PC users while also making the game easier to develop and support. You're also not asked to pay anything to play it, since you're not the intended target for the game. You can pay up, but you're not asked or required.

bad people-to-kill-hunter is bad. EVERYone in EVE is looking for fights, the ones that aren't looking still have to fight sometimes even if they don't want to. There's endless people to find and fight imho.

That right there is why they're not going PC and console. The console gamers would be at an extreme disadvantage and would be screaming bloody murder. This would force CCP to run separate servers for PC and console and that would just drive up costs and create more headaches.
They wanted to make a console game, and that's what they did.

@ op. Yes. Agree with much of what you have said. Specifically the horrible balance issues and the complete focus on pve for the last 3 expansions leaving, in conjunction with the nerfs to null and total fail that is FW, much of the spontaneous and 'fun' pvp dead n buried.
