I would like to know howmuch information were leaked, if any. I am surprised that there is no statement that it even happened.
As BBC NEWS reported, it was a hack by LuLz, which also hacked and stole user information from Sony Entertainment.

There were plenty of statements... or did you expect a FanFest?

How about linking one statement about the hack? All I found were about phishing. My question is whether user information was leaked. CCP always pushes its users for safety which is good. But if a security breach occurs we have a right to know to what extend. á BPOS: Absolution Curse Prorator Impel Vengeance T2 mods/Drones/Ammo

When reading that newsarticle, it only mentioned that CIA site being hacked. The others mentioned are hit by DDOS. That said, a confirmation would be nice, but the chance they tried hacking the EVE servers when under DDOS attack was the reason it was offline for so long, so CCP could investigate for any trace of unauthorized acces. -------------- Cleaning up wrecks others leave behind! You've been staring at the EVE UI for too long and your eyesight has withered away.
It's on the front page on eveonline.com (where you'd probably expect to see such notices for future reference)
But I'll link it anyway... Linkage

Obviously, you weren't around when it happened. Plenty of us were in the middle of something when all of a sudden the server crashed. As soon as that happened, CCP posted a notice on Facebook (the Eve Online website was down at the time) about a DDoS attack occuring. At the same time, CNN was announcing that the Senate.gov website and it's server was completely taken over by a hacker group known as LulzSec.
At first I thought it was just coincidence, but then the same hackers posted a tweet bragging their success in crashing the Eve Online website along with its login server. In addition to that, the in-game alliance Atlas claimed to have paid LulzSec into attacking the login server (those bastards).
Thankfully, CCP was smart enough to simply disconnect everything tied to Eve Online to prevent anyone from accessing anything. Nothing was leaked, although it did prompt people to change their passwords just in case.

Good thanks for clearing up. Didn't know and was shocked to read it.

Love this part. Notch should really stop givin interviews and finish his goddamn game already.
About leaked information: I doubt there's any. Anyway, you can always check lulzsec website, the release section. If you'll see EVE online database there, then it's a good call to change your password.
