I bit over a week ago I decided to finally try this the hardest lvl 5 mission and see if I could finish it. I also decided to write a guide for it as I went as none exist that I know of.
Ok first a few things to know about this mission. -ItÆs bugged, you canÆt finish it properly yet. Yes I have bug reported this. And you can still finish it (you have to travel 10,000km in a ship, twice). -You can warp directly into any part of the mission. -The rats donÆt warp scramble (or at least they havenÆt scrammed me) -ItÆs very hard, 30 BS + full support attack you at once, multiple times. -Spawns vary in numbers a bit form the 3 main rooms, numbers below are just guidelines -This worked for my mission and should work for future attempts at this mission. But CCP may change/fix this mission and I could always be wrong, attempt at your own risk.
The bug
There are 3 rooms in this mission that have a basic structure of 2 gates 1 active that leads to a guard room and 1 inactive that leads to the next room. Kill all the spawns in the room for a key to drop take that to the guard room and kill all the spawns there for the guard post to appear, drop the key in the guard post for the inactive gate to become active. This works for the first room but it does not work for the second or third room.
The Fix
Since you can warp to anywhere in the mission grab a fast ship, align yourself with the gate and travel 10,000km to get to the room, bookmark and come back with a fleet. With my claw 4 ODÆs and ok navigation skills it took me roughly 30 minutes to travel to the next room. This wonÆt work for the second room as the inactive gate is also facing the wrong direction (itÆs instead facing the same way as the guard post so if you try and travel youÆll just end up at the guard post) the real direction is roughly 90 degrees to the left of where it is pointing which is just very hard to get to if you try to align yourself with that gate.
However all 3 rooms and the final room are in a straight line. So if you warp from the first room to the second room you should be facing the right direction to reach the 3rd room and same for the 4th. You will however need to make sure itÆs the same spot your warping between in these two rooms, therefore bookmark the beacons and warp between those to align yourself to travel to the next room.

Edited by: Cosmoes on 17/06/2011 10:48:11 The walk through
Warp in Initially nothing here except an acceleration gate that leads you to the first room However during the first guard post room this acceleration gate will become inactive MAKE SURE TO MAKE BOOKMARKS IN ALL THE ROOMS.
Various concord type rats will also spawn here at various stages of the mission. At the end there will be a total of roughly: 25 battleships 35 cruisers 45 frigates Split amongst 5 groups
Room 1 Wave 1 - Drones 24 Battleships 17 cruisers
Wave 2 û Drones - After Killing a couple of ships 12 Battleships 7 Cruisers
Wave 3 û Concord û When nearly all the drones are dead 6 BS 17 Cruisers
Gate house room 1 concord cruiser which spawns another cruiser 3 times then a battleship spawns Killing the battleship makes the guard post appear, drop your key in here and the gate back in the room will become active.
Back in room 1 A large new wave of concord ships has appeared 30 Battleships 25 Cruisers 15 Frigates
Room 2 Wave 1 - Drones 17 Battleships 18 Cruisers
Wave 2 û Drones û spawns after killing a small amount of ships 12 Battleships 16 cruisers
Wave 3 û Concord 5 Battleships
Guard Post 2 Wave 1 - Concord 4 Cruisers which spawn another wave of 4 cruisers 3 times, then 3 cruisers and a battleship Total: 19 cruisers 1 battleship
Back in Room 2 A large new wave of concord ships has appeared 30 Battleships 25 Cruisers 15 Frigates
Room 3 Wave 1 - Drones 16 Battleships 20 Cruisers
Wave 2 û Drones û After killing a small number of drones 8 Battleships 10 Cruisers
Wave 3 û Concord û After killing nearly all drones 7 Battleships
Guardhouse 3 is exactly the same as guard house 2
Wave 4 û Concord û After finishing the guard house room 30 Battleships 25 Cruisers 15 Frigates
Final Room Wave 1 û Concord 11 Battleships 4 Cruisers
Wave 2 û Concord 6 Battleships 9 Cruisers
Wave 3 û Concord 4 Battleships 11 Cruisers
Wave 4 û Concord 4 Battleships 11 Cruisers
Final Wave û Concord 1 Battleship Destroy this battleship for the solitary confinement spawn container to show up, go up to container and 2 containers will appear outside of it with the mission objective in them (take both containers).

Damn, and congratulations.
Might wanna create a page about it for Evelopedia and Eve-Survival Mission Reports.

Very nicely done.
Just a thought though. If you are already having to travel manually to get to the next deadspace pocket. Couldn't you just skip all the ships and get a really fast ship and fly right to the end?

I'm also very interested in bypassing gates. Could you actually just skip killing mission rats and speed off to the next room? This may have interesting blitzing implications...
I've run a lot of missions, but somehow never paid attention to acceleration gate distances...is it always 10k km's?

I assume that would work.
However this is the only mission I know which allows you to warp directly into any part of the deadspace. This mission is also very new and has not been completed very many times (for obvious reasons) so the reward balance mechanic for this is very off atm. So it would work but not worth it at the moment.
However it's a big ass mission with roughly 250 battleships with manually flying between rooms. There is also a massive amount of loot, I got nearly 60k m3 of loot on the final run. I predict it being one of the longer and therefore higher rewarding lvl 5's once it balances it out a bit more. So maybe in the future (if it still isn't fixed) this would be a worthwhile blitz method.
OH also
Part 2 of 2
Very short, you just have to take the DNA from the first mission and drop it in one of the two cans.
A few ships appear the closer you get to the can you choose, some cruisers frigs and 1 battleship. When you drop it in the can a can drops with a 12th teer overseer's affects (9.9 mil)
Both options seem to give the same result, I got same result as other guy on forum said who took different option.

Edited by: JackStraw56 on 18/06/2011 16:43:47 I tried this mission on Sisi with a Maelstrom with deadspace booster, high grade crytals, etc. for roughly a 2.5-3k dps perma tank (there are no neut towers in the first pocket at least). It wasn't enough in the first pocket and I was quickly driven out.
What kind of tank did you need to get through OP?

There are no bounties. The mission isn't really worth doing at all for the rewards right now, just for the challenge.

I used a max skilled omni tank vulture, very high resists and a L shield booster to help rep. Also kept moving (orbit the warp in beacon)
Then I had a geddon and tempest set up purely for dps and remote reps, so 3 large transporters constantly.
Was just enough for it, I did have to warp out a couple of times. ------------------- piccy |

Hardly any. Its only giving you concord emblems. I do not possess any knowledge on what to do with concord emblems to. What LP store are they used for?
And great work btw. When we tried it first time around we where quickly driven off using our guardian+dominix+other rr bs combo. We settled for an uberhardened command ship of one sort and two guardians, left us with one guy doing damage. Lets say it took a realy long while. Then we came to the second room and couldnt progress...

Edited by: Cosmoes on 04/07/2011 05:01:10 OK got this mission again and thought I'd farm some more loot. On a full run I got
18.5k cap booster charges 15k Drone compounds and metal scraps 25.5k Regular loot
For a total of 59k loot
I can melt that down to make roughly 4-5 typhoons.
The concord emblems are same as tags from what I can understand. I checked on eve central and there look to be NPC buy orders up in thukker space, I don't think they can be used for anything else.
Total Concord emblem value: 322 mil
Salvage wasn't that great only 8 armor plates and 16 trit bars. lots of tripped power circuits and burned logic circuits though.
Total salvage roughly: 50 mil
With 3 characters and using the workaround took me roughly 7 hours to kill and loot everything. With a dedicated salvager and someone to run between rooms while we fight could probably knock that down to 4 hours.
Oh and on fighting concord. This is the only place I could find that talked about concord dps and what damage to do, not sure how accurate it is. Three things I noticed though while fighting them.
1. All the bs launch em torps. You need to be able to tank 30 em torps coming rapid fire at you (that really hurts a shield tanker)
2. They have very good shield regen. I pitty the poor bastard who tries to take one of these down with anything less than a dps bs, also very helpful to focus fire. 1 dps bs could take down 1 concord in about 60 seconds but if I focus fired with 2 dps bs they whent down in about 20 seconds.
3. The 30 bs concord respawn in room 3. I can't tell how it's different than the previous 2 rooms 30 bs concord spawn but it's the only spawn that breaks my command ships tank. ------------------- piccy |

Wow that is some really nice info!
Loot, salvage and rewards etc looks pretty nice too, i think this mission would be good for a small corp to run...
2 dedicated tankers
1 or 2 Logi
4-5 DPS BSs with 2 or 2 RR *just in case*
Noctis, Mammoth.
