Basically you click "place buy order" at the bottom of the screen, the normal screen pops up and you enter a number. When you click "okay", all the sudden you have actually purchased the item from the market for an amount different than the one that you entered.
It happened to both me and my friend.
I wanted to place a buy order for "margin trading" for 2.8 mil. So, I clicked "place buy order" and entered 2.8 mil (i think it may have been 28 mil on accident). Then I hit "okay" and all of the sudden a transaction appeared in my wallet that I purchased "margin trading" for 28 mil. Margin trading was ONLY selling from NPCs for 18 mil in that region.
My friend tried to place a buy order for a different item (not "margin trading" but i dont know what). He clicked "place buy order" and entered 200 mil. Then when he hit "okay" a transaction appeared in his wallet for 200 mil.
Anyone else experience this ?

Also as a side note. I filled out a petition but was denied refund. My friend is still waiting for a response to his petition.

I don't see what your problem is. You bought the items for the exact price you offered to pay. ---

This is pretty much what happened. There's no bug.
When you place a "buy order" you are saying "I am welling to spend 28,000,000 isk to buy this item!"
Normally the game says "I'll see who is willing to pay for this order. Let me take part of your isk now (Margin Trading) and I'll collect on it later." However in your situation, they said, "Oh, hey, look, here's an order right here that matches your offer. Let me collect your 28,000,000, give it to the seller."
If the seller was a PC, they would have gained your 28,000,000 isk (less taxes and other fees.)
This is not a bug; this the way buy orders work.

Here's another "bug" you should watch out for. Placing a buy order (instead of a sell order) for 0.01 ISK less than the lowest sell order. I've seen this one quite a few times while trading, much to my delight, of course.

Fat finger syndrome, get into the habit of tabbing off the amount field visually checking it.
