I just had "Unauthorized Military Presence", Level 3 against Guristas in a Hurricane. It was a pain since I sometimes couldn't lock any rat for 3 or 4 minutes.
Now I knew that Guristas are not fun with proper measures against jamming. So, I had fit a ECCM module, a gravimetric Metalevel 3 ("92% gravimetric strength"). I barely noticed any effect compared to earlier missions without any ECCM module at all.
Is a "gravimetric" ECCM module wrong against Guristas? Do I need ECCM for all 4 types? Is 92% not enough? (What does 92% mean at all?) Do I need perhaps two gravimetric ECCM modules?
Or shouldn't I care about ECCM and use F.O.F. missiles instead (switching from Cane to Drake then)?
Any other strategies? How do you run missions against Guristas?

Minmatar ships have LADAR signatures, so you need a ECCM LADAR to boost your signal strength as I understand it. Gravimetric for Caldari ships, Radar for Amarr and magnetometric for Gallente.

I see now, that was my fault. Somehow I thought I had to use ECCM for the enemies signal type, but that's nonsense, I guess. Will try LADAR next time, thanks!

There is supposed to be changes to the mission NPCs on Tuesday's patch that will address some of the ridiculous jamming in some missions.

^ This. Fingers crossed it fixes the Gurista jamming problem. Being jammed for a few minutes is a real hassle at times.

1) NPC jamming is percentage based. (i.e. how often they -try- to jam you) 2) NPC jamming success is based on your sensor strength. 3) The fix the put in with the latest patch was to reduce the amount of jamming ships you face at the same time. Thereby reducing your chance of being jammed. But it is still possible for you to be chain-jammed for a period of time. Keep fitting the correct ECCM to further reduce your chance to be jammed.
