Disqualifying people for using multiple teams caught "meta gaming" (exploiting the rules) their way through the tournament may restore the integrity of the event.
Terrible showing.

Not signed, absolutely fine, but bad show on them for not fighting it out properly in the final!

u would have to dq half the teams in the tourny if you did that. metagaming is not against the rules albeit a bit lame.

Absolutely not signed.
Metagaming is a central part of the tournament, and has been for years. Hydra and Outbreak simply did it better than than everyone else this year - in addition to being skilled pilots.
Both certainly *earned* their places in the final through legitimate wins and do not deserve being disqualified just for the amusing mock-hero Vindi antics in the last match.

I completely agree, metagaming is what sets Eve apart from other online games, it is one of the reasons why Eve is such a good game Imho.

While I think it was somewhat poor to do in the finals, it is what it is, and both teams definitely got to the finals on their own accord.

this is in the worst possible spirit of any tournament ever and if you were on the receiving end you would be ****ed.

Well if people accept blatantly throwing a match as legit tactics, best plan for next year is to go in with as many alliances as possible and give a single alliance all the points it can get. You could have rookies win the AT without firing a shot, if this is really acceptable.
