Does your corp have more than a few applications pending at present?
If so, you are probably going to have some problems actually accepting people that you got to apply using the fancy new adverts...
http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=1531770
In short - the bit of the window where the list of applicants are is not sortable, and can only display 2 and a bit people in the list.
For any corp who hasn't cleared out their applicant list in a while (we have an estimated 4500 applications since the start of the year) its going to be almost impossible to find the person you need to recruit.
If you can, I suggest you clear your old pending applications as soon as possible! _____

actually, theres probably more than a few worthless corps spamming the recruitment channel who will think this is good news.
Not everyone is Eve University and gets 9023049238 applications per day.

Agreed, but its going at affect every corp with more than a handful of pending applications - any corp which has been around for more than a few years, yours included Soda, is going to have trouble finding the needle in the haystack until its fixed if they haven't cleared the list before Incarna.
We have a few ways around it until its properly fixed so its not really a problem for E-UNI, but as is, someone could have a load of people apply to a small corp in order to flood the application dialog and make it hard to find the one person you want to accept. _____

There's an easy way to get more - post a recruitment advert using the in-game stuff. The tutorial points new players right to it, and it accounts for about 1/2 to 2/3 our daily applications.
I can't vouch for the applicants ability to follow instructions though, as only a fraction of all applicants get to the point where they join our recruiting queue. _____

And I thought looking through the apps when there was a sort option was tough...
Good to hear though that CCP has acknowledged the problem and is working on a fix.

Processing these 5 apps since 2007 is going to be a monumental task.
I might need to actually look at the app list :effort: ------------------ Find Roid, Examine, and Excavate Explorer |

don't open recruit and spam, and you more likely to get 'better' people.
Quantity or quality, you can't get both. Stop spamming, and you will get less.

& OP
I don't think I'm understanding the issue properly. My understanding of the new system is to make corporate recruitment more accessible. To be gone with the "Recruitment" channel and match players up to corps based on their relevance, not how well Captain Spammy McTaxrate can con you into joining up.
Mass Application spam can happen right now, nothing is changing there.
What I'm saying is that for smaller corps; they will have the opportunity to have new players approach them for a change. I guess the flipside of that coin is that well known corps and alliances are going to have their hands full with apps.
It's a case of the old players getting the raw deal again, it's EvE.. how can you not be used to this?! Your entire corp is founded on the basis that CCP is terrible at looking after it's player base... I digress. Have you spoken with CSM type folk?

Not certain who this was directed to, but we don't 'spam' as far as I am aware - most people tend to find use via the recruitment adverts, and the others ted to be referred.
The problem is simply that the list of applicants is very small and not sorted, so if you have a few old apps can't find the one you want without a lot of work - however, there has been a response to the original thread in the Test Server section, so it's being looked at at least. _____

I clear pending applications weekly... It's actually quite sad, only around 1/10 applicants show in our public channel/convo us personally/eve mail officers/etc and from those we accept only around 1/3?
Mostly it's pure spam of people who just drop apps to corps without even reading where they live, I got no idea what is that for... Wasting our time? That small window will be a pain to clear the flood :/ Usually it's also only during weekends, during the week almost nobody applies sometimes for weeks in a row, and then bang, 20 apps in a day, got to seed them out, etc.

We use an out of game application process, we also bind alts to people's main accounts so that if you don't have your alt registered and the application is not on our site, we deny it in-game.
I find it easier to use out of game resources to recruit/find new members than in-game jacked up mechanics.

Thanks for the heads up. I had briefly looked at the interface and seemed rather pleased with it and would like to give it a whirl at some point. On the other hand, it doesn't affect our day-to-day since we use our website for that.

We've actually seen a increase in applications since the new system. I can see how it would be a problem for large corps with many many apps as there is no sorting.

Why do you have 'very old aps' in the first place
if you just have personel manager accept/reject aps like you should there no need for a massive list to come into existence. I would think that every time you are handling aps you know who you want to accept and can just reject all the others.
