I just saw this myself. It will be sad again once we find out who the second casualty is.

Thats sad to hear :\
Although I'm not trying to make a joke of this but.....
"The 34-year-old and another passenger died when their car hit a tree in Pennsylvania"
I take it there was a surviver then? Or was there no driver at all?

Ryan Dunne was possibly my fav Jackass, seemed like a geniunely cool laid back guy and didnt seem like the fame/money went to his ego too much *cough* Bam *cough*
But yea...drunk driving and speeding, its hard to feel too bad when he got someone else killed. -----------------

I completely agree with your thoughts on Ryan and his down to earth personality. As for the second part I feel slightly bad for both individuals, but I also realize that the other individual was probably a consenting adult and knew the type of person they were getting into the car with. Sober or inebriated, Ryan was a crazy guy and it was a risk to get in the car with him at any point in time. I am sure we all have known people similar to him and the other guys in Jackass.
I say this only because I have been in similar situations with similar individuals and have said to myself that I accept anything and everything that will occur to me that is a result from said action with said individuals.
I also will state that it will probably never be known whether or not the driver was under the influence of any substance as everything was burnt to a crisp.

He tweeted a pic of him drinking about 2 hours before the crash...so yea.
He was likely also drinking with the individual who got into the car with him though so I agree hes a consenting adult who knew what he was doing. But drinking and driving is unforgiveable even if I loved the guy, a car doing 110mph is a missile and it could have hit anyone. -----------------

Such a waste.
Doing 110 mph in a vehicle without a tubular steel racing frame is suicidal. Doing it drunk is ... there is simply no excuse for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.
Shame that he took another life with his own. On the up side he didn't hit another vehicle and kill somebodies father, mother or children.
Maybe somebody will learn from this. Next happy hour some drunk might decide to get a cab or call a friend because he doesn't want to pull a Ryan Dunn.

Been waiting for someone to make this thread for about 11-12 hours now. It sucks, tbh. What sucks even more is people will still drink and drive because the majority of them don't learn from other peoples' mistakes. Yeah I am a pirate. What are you gonna do about it? That information was not in the AP article that I read and it does not surprise me at all. My main point was that the individual in the car likely knew what they were getting into and deserve as much or as little sympathy as Ryan.
As for the unforgivable state of the act of drunk driving I could not agree more, even though I was an extreme abuser of it in my younger years. My current opinion on drunk driving is that the current punishment for it is ludicrous if the authorities want to actually see a drop in the rates and not just use the charge as a monetary flow for the State.
I am fed up with officers targeting anyone driving late at night for BS issues, that they ignore during the day, just hoping that when they pull them over they will find the individual is drunk and can ring the individuals pockets; at the same time ignoring the statistics that over 50% of the drivers during the day are under the influence of a controlled substance that they do not even test for if someone gets into a wreck.
My feelings are that one should only be charged with driving under the influence if they cause damage to something or someone. At which point the gravity of the situation should potentially be elevated to the level of attempted 1st degree attempted manslaughter for any wreck, even if bystanders are not involved, as it should be common knowledge that you are more likely to cause damage to other individuals when you drive under the influence of any substance.

I'm not saying it's ok to drink and drive, but more people are killed by stupid people driving each year. I don't really agree with how drunk drivers are the only ones society rages against.
If i were king, driving while stupid would be impaired driving too.

The man does not deserve to rest in peace, he made a living off other peoples bad taste and killed another human being in a horrific fashion by driving intoxicated and being the irresponsible **** he was.
It's a shame an innocent person had to die to take out the trash.

Random poster confirming that the passenger was not of like character to Ryan Dunn, that would never scream the words "go faster,ö that was not a consenting adult, and was not in the same state of inebriation as Ryan Dunn.

And Rt. 322 chalks up another kill mail.
Saw the pictures of the car on the local TV station since that area is local to me. it did not even resemble a car.
Of course remember it was a Porsche 911 so there is not much car at all to start with, they are designed to be small and fast and driven sober because unlike a big caddy there is nothing to crumple at any speed other than yourself.

The passenger got into the car willingly, its tragic that he died in such a horrible way but he had the choice to say "I am not getting into the car with you in that state, you shouldn't be driving I'm getting a cab"
Anyhow I hope they both rest in piece.

He advertised to the world his complete lack of judgement as best he could, anyone getting into a car with him should've known the risks.

Not if you're hammered off your ass to and you think he's good to drive... Guy could have been passed out. What if Dunn said he was ok to drive. You dont need to be stumbling drunk to cause an accident. On top of that I know plenty of people who donbt act or appear drunk when they really are.
Another round of blame the victim.
Who's to really say it's all speculation. (Even on my part)

What victim? As far as I can tell it was an accident. How is the supposed victims choice to get in the car any different than that of the drivers? Both were probably bad calls and as for assigning blame, they don't care, they're dead.
